Rise above it all!

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others…” Matthew 20:28, NLT

I’ll never forget when my bestfriend lost her son. It was their first child and he was only three months old. As soon as we received the heartbreaking news, all of her family and friends drove to her home, some of us from out of town, to comfort her. After a month went by, I called to see how she was doing. She said, “I’m just looking for opportunities to share the Gospel with others.” I remember I was standing in the grocery store when she said this and tears began to run down my face. I was so amazed. Her heart didn’t turn from God, it turned to Him. She didn’t stop serving others because of her calamity, she served all the more. She showed herself to truly be a disciple of Jesus.

We all experience adversity and trials that completely devastate us. We all experience hurt and pain, but I encourage you, don’t turn away from God. Turn to Him. Don’t stop serving others. Serve all the more. Don’t stop telling others about Jesus. Look for witnessing opportunities that God will send your way. I know it’s hard, but you can rise above it all by God’s strength. Don’t go inward. Keep reaching outward. Show yourself to truly be a disciple of Jesus.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking to my heart. No matter what I go through in life, help me always turn to you. Help me Lord to never stop serving you. Give me the heart of Jesus. Give me the mind of Jesus. Even in the midst of my hurt and pain, help me to keep reaching, and keep looking to be a blessing. Help me to rise above it all and serve you by serving others. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

  4. A few days back your devotional was based on Ezekiel 7:4-5. This is Scrupture turned out to be an confirmation of a vision my oldest son had wile in church last Sunday. The vision my son had was that a sword defended down to the pastor who took hold of it, pointed it straight in front of him and began to walk over DRY BONES! As the pastor did this in my son’s vision, the dry bones came to life and Bagan to follow him! This was the end of his vision. The folooking day I shared the scripture you began that days devotional With! Confirmation ! ,you Son told me that when I shared the scripture with him, the Precense of the Holy Spirit enveloped him. He began to weep at the amazing feeling he had as the Holy Spirit did This! He is going through something, a spiritual battle, to keep his wife. She is bi-polar and it was revealed to him that because of a horrific thing happened to her when she was ten. She blocked it from her mind. A prophet friend of my family told him that while he was praying for her, the Lord showed him a demon that has been on her since that time who declared he was going to destroy any relationship she ever had. My son told this demon to reveal itself and the Lord allowed this. My son is not perfect, we will be someday, but he is a man of God, great husband and his children love him very Much! Three of Them! She hasn’t been intimate with him for over 6 yearS! Recently they were and she became pregnant. She goes back and forth about terminating the pregnancy. I am asking all prayer warriors on Daughters of the King to pray this doesn’t happen, that this divorce which is already affecting the children, 3,4 and 6. My son has worked very hard to have a happy marriage in spite of the physical abuse and emotional abuse! Ladies, I apologize for being so long in the telling but this is a direct situation! Thank you so very much!

    1. Thank you for your transparency. You will have an awesome testimony of deliverance for daughter in law. Dec. 20/14 husband had stroke. Miracle of miracles, within 3 days he was out of P.T. however mentally, abuse began. I thank God he is alive. It took a psychiatrist to tell me a few months ago, it wasn’t my fault & he had my husband take my hand & say, tearfully” it’s not your fault”! As we both wept, what a healing came forth. To often we take on the burden of blame, when He our Jesus, took it all. We are forgiven HALLELUJAH
