“Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.”
Psalms 24:7-8
While in South Africa, my husband and I chose to participate in a safari game drive years ago. We saw beautiful elephants, giraffes, zebra, hippos, a leopard. But the one animal we were most looking forward to seeing was the majestic king of the jungle–the lion. And when we saw it, all we could do was sit in quiet admiration of this powerful creation of God.
Scripture calls our Lord the Lion of Judah. It says in Revelation 5:5, “Then one of the elders said to me, βDo not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed.β He is the meek and lowly Lamb slain and He is also our strong and mighty Lion of Judah. He is our Man of War. As God’s daughters, I believe we will experience the strong and mighty nature of Lord. People will expect quietness, and God will say raise your voice and roar loud and strong. In this hour of ferocious demonic attacks, the Spirit of God is showing up with greater ferocity in His people. The might and strength of God will come upon us and operate through us. The sin we felt powerless to before, we will feel powerless to no more. Through Jesus, we will dominate over sin, over lack, over fear, doubt and unbelief. The Lion of Judah lives in us and in the Lord, we live, move and have our being.
If while in South Africa, I was to call on that lion to rescue me, it might want to eat me instead. But not the Lion of Judah. When we call on His name, Jehovah Gibbor Milchamah, which means in Hebrew, powerful, warrior and Mighty Man of War. When we call on Him, He will come near speedily. We will sense Him near us and we will see victory. The Lord is our very present help in time of trouble. Let’s call on the powerful name of the Lord today!
Prayer: We love you, Lord. You are our mighty Man of War. You are our powerful warrior King. You are our strong great Deliverer. Your people all around the earth are experiencing great attacks, Lord. But we know you are greater! You are our very present help in our time of trouble. You tell us to call on you and we will be saved. So we cry out to you, Lord Jehovah Gibbor Milchamah, and we receive your supernatural strength, supernatural healing and your supernatural deliverance in our lives. We overcome through you. We’re more than conquerors through you who loves us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
