The Lord is with you in snowy weather.

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout…” Isaiah 55:10

I live in Alaska, where snow is normal. It’s part of our rhythm, our seasons, our way of life. But when snow falls across the lower 48, even in places like Texas where it’s rare, it stops people in their tracks. It slows everything down. It gets attention. Scripture reminds us that snow is not random.

“Have you entered the treasury of snow, Or have you seen the treasury of hail, Which I have reserved for the time of trouble, For the day of battle and war?” Job‬ ‭38‬:‭22‬-‭23‬

Have you entered the storehouses of the snow?

Snow covers. Snow quiets. Snow cleanses. Snow forces rest. It even helps kill harmful bacteria and resets the land. Spiritually, God uses snow as a picture of cleansing and renewal.

“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” Isaiah 1:18

For those of us who live where snow is constant, it teaches endurance and trust. For those experiencing it unexpectedly, it may be an invitation to slow down, to reflect, and to remember the God who orders the seasons. God often speaks through creation when hearts are willing to listen. Maybe this snow isn’t about fear at all, but about attention, calling us back to stillness, humility, and dependence on Him.

Prayer: Father God, we come before you with humble hearts, asking for wisdom and discernment in this season. Help us not to move in fear or speculation, but in faith and trust in you. Quiet the noise around us and within us, and help us hear what your Spirit is saying. Teach us to slow down when you call for rest, to repent where you are cleansing, and to trust you as you order the seasons of our lives and this land. We place our hope fully in you, knowing you are sovereign, faithful, and good. And we thank you for what you have done, are doing, and are about to do, in Your son Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
