The whale of oppression is at the door.

“From inside the fish, Jonah prayed to the Lord his God, saying: β€œIn my distress I called to the Lord, and He answered me. From the belly of Sheol I called for help, and You heard my voice” Jonah 1:2, Berean Standard Bible.

Because of the calling on your life, my sister, the enemy is waiting at the door, and is hot on your heels, waiting for you to tell God no. Our rejecting God’s instruction and purpose will not look like Jonah. Not in this hour. Running to the farthest ends of the earth is not how it will happen for us. Because of the power of God’s gift in you and the importance of His calling. Because of the number of people still waiting to be reached and the weight of His words in our belly, we won’t get two inches in rebellion before sin swallows us up. God sent me to tell you, this is not the time of Jonah, where you can tell Him no, that you won’t go, and get time to come to your senses. The whale of oppression is at the door waiting to swallow God’s people whole, so much so, that we will need God Himself to deliver us. Don’t play around with the Lord’s purpose and plan. Be what He has created you to be in the earth and do what He has purposed you to do. Accept His instructions even if you don’t fully understand them and trust Him with all your heart.

Prayer: I hear you Lord, and I receive your calling and your purpose for my life. There is too much at stake and too many lives hanging in the balance. I say yes to you, Lord, and no to the enemy. Keep me pursuing you and all that pertains to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I say, “Yes Lord, Yes. To Your will and to Your way. I say, Yes Lord, Yes, I will trust You and obey. When Your Spirit speaks to me, with my whole life I’ll agree and my answer will be, Yes, Lord, Yes!”

  5. A few months ago I kept seeing messages (scripture/devotionals/sermons/tv shows, etc..) about Jonah…….Those reminders encouraged me to take a step of obedience toward what I believed God was calling me to do. Since taking that step, things have actually gotten harder, and this morning I found myself wondering if I had heard God correctly or made the right decision. In that thought, I also realized I hadn’t seen a β€˜Jonah’ message in a while…until tonight. The Holy Spirit led me to this devotional -once again-right on time. Things aren’t β€˜all better’ yet, but I’m grateful that God keeps speaking & letting me know He sees me, and I’m thankful for His obedient daughters who share His heart. May God continue to bless Dotk. β€œI called out to the Lord, out of my distress, and he answered me…” Jonah 2:2 Amen.

  7. Lord, keep shaping and pruning me to be what You’ve created me to be in the earth and do what you’ve purposed me to be. I hear you Lord, and I receive your calling and your purpose for my life. There is too much at stake and too many lives hanging in the balance. I say yes to you, Lord, and no to the enemy. Keep me pursuing you and all that pertains to you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
