Trust Him

“The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.” Psalms 34:22

What does it mean to trust God? It means to place your entire well-being into His hands. It also means you trust in His love for you, and the promises He’s made to you. One way He teaches us how to trust in Him is by using older saints to share their stories of how they made it through various challenges.

I once met an older woman who said all throughout her Bible she had written “tried and proven.” These words were written next to the scriptures she had stood on in faith and God had proven Himself to be faithful in her life. I believe if we had more women like her sharing their faith, their experiences and teaching younger women how to trust in God, we wouldn’t see so many lost and confused women in the church today.

Because there is no passing down of wisdom and no impartations of faith from older saints, women give up on life at the slightest attack from the devil. The smallest amount of persecution or pressure causes many of us to want to quit. I believe it’s because we don’t know how to go through anything. We don’t know how to handle challenges with class. We don’t know how to trust God until He brings us out. We don’t know how to stand on His promises and watch Him come through for us. We don’t know how to walk by faith and not by sight. No one taught us how to hang in there until we see the morning sun, so we die in the middle of the night. We throw in the towel and lose our minds and no longer desire to fight. We desperately need someone to come to our side, rest their hand on our shoulders and say, “Baby, everything is going to be alright. Trust in the Lord. He is faithful, and He will see you through anything.”

My sisters, you don’t have to lose your mind. You don’t have to have a nervous breakdown. You don’t have to lose yourself. You can decide right now that you will trust God until He makes a way out of no way for you.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking to my heart! I choose right now to place my trust in you. Help me stand on your promises until you make a way out of no way for me. Help me Lord to trust in your love for me no matter how things appear. As I place my trust in you, I ask that you strengthen me and be glorified in my life! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  2. Trusting in Lord is something I must constantly be reminded that I must do through out each day. I’m sorry that I missed the Philadelphia event. I had a double engagement, and I chose the other because They needed someone to show for them. Even though I wanted meet Sis Keisha, and I would be even more inspired , I believe opportunity will come again, probably in another state in person !
Talking to the younger sisters and brothers and sharing our stories will help them grow in the Lord as they are watching us as examples, or saying “has that ever happened to you? Of course it has ….,
. We are a lot stronger than we think. God has Blessed us to be Women of God!
    Praise the Lord!

  3. Like the wind, GOD moves by His Holy Spirit to reach us where we are… His timing is impeccable!!! He is moving right now through this message to motivate His daughters… He is stirring up the gift in His daughters to use our gifts to reach and to teach those around us. HALLELUJAH!!! Our “tried” & “proven” FATHER is moving by His Spirit to re-build His church!!! 🙌🏾💃🏾🙌🏾💃🏾🙌🏾

  4. Praise God! Everyday I’m learning to trust Him more no matter what I see. As we get to know the Bible/Word, we are getting to know and trust Him as we believe the Word is truth. Thank God, He is faithful and knows His creation. Please pray with me that the younger ladies would want to be taught by the older seasoned women, not by what society of materialistic gain in greed of the world. Pray that the young ladies will want more of Him. Pray for my city, please.
Thank you Sister Kesha for always encouraging that we should be who God have called us to be wherever we God so He can get the glory from our lives.
    🙏🤗❤🙌🙌🙌

  5. Amen
Sharing God given stories and blessings that come about daily is where I should open my mouth and praise God for what He has done and share with everyone
I remember a lady In our church she would always tell me “read your Bible hita “
there are love stories, family drama and murder stories in it, read them, and I have even read where they boiled and ate their own kid wow
    And
now I am older these past few months God has been writing my stories
He has shown me Me and only He can reveal me to me through the Holy Spirit in amy situation,
Through traffic weaving, to be still to
Fake eye lashes, not vanity also what I can and can’t eat or drink, even tattoos He is showing me all this and much more
Just to put me in a place of obedience to trust God for everything it’s hasn’t been easy but working out our own salvation mean faith and obedience a walk not to many want to walk it
It has been an amazing journey this far I am amazed at how much lil things need to be adjusted or removed and everyday
To show His love through me
If your faithful with the lil things He will trust you with much more
Ty for sharing each day ❤️

  8. Right on!
I’m your Sister who’s 60, so here goes:
I want to add that I have learned not to have my own expectations, while I am trusting in God. If I focus too much on what I think things should look like, I am actually getting in His way. My expectations cause me to fight for control.
His plans have happened above and beyond anything I could have imagined every time.
I let go and surrender my life into His Hands and I stay out of the way of His plans.
It’s working yet again…and this is a big one!

    1. Yes! I am learning to not suggest to Father God how to answer my prayers. He has shown me so many times that His thoughts and ways are really higher than mine! He constantly amazes me!

  9. I disagree. Many people survive with zero Church or Christian involvement. Women we survive and may find God later in life. To dismiss young women as “giving up at the slightest thing” is disrespecting the huge things we survive. Rape, narcissist abuse, abusive relationships, addiction, workplace bullying, abuse from police and healthcare providers who deny treatment and gaslight, misdiagnosing for profit. Young women now deal also with online bullying, grooming, stalking digital and offline, pressure to pose on Instagram, pressure to get plastic surgery, colorism. Most young men are incels and porn addicted and openly hate women and support R Kelly.
Young women are not giving up at slightest thing. And older women imparting wisdom often cannot help. They have no clue about what young ppl are going thru. Plus wages and working conditions worse, opiate addiction, legal cannabis addiction, hypergamy and sex positivity brainwashing. Lesbians being pressured to date men who say they are trans women or be doxxed, death threats and sacked. Refuse vaccine and barred from jobs, even homeless.
So I disagree that youth are giving up at slightest thing and just need a good talking to by those who assume they are wiser.
Older people could learn a lot from the younger if the had ears to hear.
Also older people often intolerant, homophobic, judgemental, think they know it all. And expect unearned respect. And beat kids. And are dumb to pay tithes so pastor has designer clothes and luxury cars. MLK flew economy class but mega church pastors have private jets. But older ppl say tithes are priority smh. In Bible tithes was grain. And not for pastor pockets.

  10. WOW, this devotion truly spoke to me. “No one taught us how to hang in there until we see the morning sun, so we die in the middle of the night. We throw in the towel and lose our minds and no longer desire to fight.” We’re always so quick to give in when things get tough. Father I pray that you give me the wisdom and the heart to see your presence in my life even at the peak of the storm, for when I am down to nothing, I know You are up to something. Help me trust in You in every situation I’m faced with, because You love me and will never forsake me, Amen.
