Trusting in God removes all insecurity.

“It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.” Psalms 118:8-9, NKJV.

There’s a heightened level of insecurity among women these days, and we could easily say, “It’s the government’s fault! They’re not doing anything! That’s the reason I’m so insecure.” We could say, “It’s my company’s fault! They are laying off people left and right and they’ve got me wondering if I’ll be next. That’s the reason I’m so insecure.” Or, we could say, “It’s my husband’s fault! He’s not taking his rightful place as the spiritual leader in our home. He’s asking me what we should do and he’s not seeking God for direction. That’s the reason I’m so insecure.” The truth is, while all of things matter a great deal to God, the reason for our insecurity as women is either we have stopped trusting in the Lord or we simply don’t know how.

Trusting in God removes all insecurity. Never forget that.

To trust means to hide for refuge, to be confident, bold, secure and sure. Jesus is our refuge. Jesus is our protection. Jesus is our provider. Jesus is the way. He is the only sure rock that we have to stand on. Not government, not our jobs, not our husbands or anyone or anything else. Jesus and His words are the only thing we can securely rely on in these times and be confident in. So you see? If you are wondering, “Why do I feel so insecure?” My sisters, we must check our trust in God. Have we misplaced it? Have we put it in ourselves, or in someone other than God? It’s like sitting on a chair that has only one leg. It will make you feel afraid you will fall. So it is with insecurity. If we are afraid we will fall in any area of our lives, we are sitting on something other than God, and relying on someone other than Him. God wants us to put our complete trust in Him and in Him alone.

Prayer: My God, I remove my trust away from myself, away from man, away from things, and I place all of my trust in you Lord. Forgive me for trusting in anyone or anything but you. You are my only hope. If you don’t help me God I can’t be helped. So I come to you and I place my life in your hands. I place my family in your hands. I trust you Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read Psalms 49:6-7; 1 Timothy 6:17; Isaiah 26:3)
