When you come to yourself.

“And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!” Luke 15:17

Years ago, while sitting in a mental hospital, I wondered, “How in the world did I get here?!” My life had sunk so low that I had forgotten who I was and why I was here. But I am so thankful Jesus met me in that place and He helped me come to myself.

My sister and friend, you may be wondering, “How did I get here? How did I get in this mess of a situation? How did I allow my life to get so out of control?” Maybe you don’t recognize yourself anymore and have forgotten who you are and why you are here. But Jesus will help you like He helped me. He will stoop down and will help you come to yourself. He will break the power of Satan’s lies over you and will cause His truth to penetrate through to your heart until you are reminded of who you are. He will help you remember that you have a heavenly Father who loves you, you have a family in Christ that cares for you, and you have a divine purpose for why you are here.

The prodigal son remembered as he came to himself, and he went straightway to his father. I pray you will do the same. I pray you go straightway to your Father. He will welcome you with open arms. He will put a ring on your finger, a crown on your head and a robe on your back. He will remove your old filthy garments, and robe you in garments fitting for a daughter of the King!

Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking to me and for meeting me right where I am. Only you can help me come to myself. Help me God! Deliver me from this place I’m in and set me on a firm foundation in you. No matter what I go through, help me run to you and receive your loving reminder of who I am. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I pray and thank God in advance for lifting the fatigue, lethargy, lack of motivation, lack of initiative, follow through, clear mind and any other thing I have been dealing with. 8. Thank you so much for this timely Word from God Sis. Keisha. ( my apologies if I spelled your name wrong). I too have been in a mental hospital. Declared 51/50. Normally I would not share this, but your message touched me in a way that I felt compelled. I never want to go back to.the place where I was before. I was having mental breakdown almost every day. My mind was at war against itself. I was depressed, I was having anxiety attacks, and all while on active duty in the Navy. I was discharged and after that I thought man I am free, but I was still in bondage in my mind. I veered so far off course. Wanting nothing to do with the Church nor God’s Word, and I was out there, but in 2014 when I was tired and fed up, I had road to Damascus period whereas God met me right where I was. Yes, i still had and have to go through somethings but its nothing like having God our Father on our side. I turned my life back over to Christ. I got baptized again and God welcomed me back Home with open arms. I still have my moments and sometimes days but its nothing like going through with our Father and knowing that we can find comfort in HIS arms.
Again thank you my Sister for your devotionals and taking time with God to pour into us. You matter and You be encouraged! I speak God’s blessings over your life and your family’s life. In Jesus name. Amen.
