Why is there such a breakdown?

“I will show you what he is like who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them: He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid his foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the torrent crashed against that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears My words and does not act on them is like a man who built his house on ground without a foundation. The torrent crashed against that house, and immediately it collapsedโ€”and great was its destruction.” Luke 6:46-49, Berean Study Bible

Anyone in construction knows the sign of foundation problems: You begin to see 45 degree angle cracks in the wall, visible cracks in the roof, doors and windows stick when trying to open or close them, and the floor splits in half. These are indicators of a deeper foundation issue that if not repaired, the house will continue to fall apart.

Why is there such a breakdown in the home and family structure? The primary cause is the foundation. People are building their lives, their homes and their families on everything but Jesus. He is not at the center of their lives, they are not following His Word, and they wonder why they are experiencing such great damage.

Receive this understanding and wisdom today. Jesus is the rock that your life must be built on, and only what you do for Him and with Him will last. So, how do you build? You ask the LORD to rescue you and place you on a firm foundation. You then ask Him to lead you to a local Bible-based church where you and your family can grow spiritually in your relationship with Him and other believers.

As you do this, the LORD will begin to teach you and give you rich understanding and will empower you to obey His written Word. You will be strengthened in your spiritual walk and you will see how strong you’ve become by the storms in your life. The storms that were meant to destroy you, will now only prove the quality and strength of your foundation in Jesus Christ.

(Study Isaiah 28:16; Acts 20:24; 1 Corinthians 15:58; Hebrews 12:28)

  1. Absolutely the Truth. Jesus is the only foundation which is like a rock, Steadfast and Strong! He is our Rock, whenever the storms in our lives seems to grow stronger He is still Stronger. He stays the same we just have to humble ourselves under His Authority, worship and trust Him at ALL times.
