You are God’s Design

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Since last year, I’ve been doing a lot of work on understanding how I am, why I am, and what I am. Why do I feel everything? Why do I notice the slightest change in my environment? Why do I feel overstimulated and overwhelmed and have to get away to myself to recharge? Why do bright lights and certain smells bother me? Why is it that I can walk into a room and sense what everyone in the room is feeling? I realized, and my doctor confirmed that I am truly a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) and very empathic. I feel happy to know that nothing’s wrong with me. As a matter of fact, something’s very right with me. Being a highly sensitive person is a blessing that only 15 to 20% of people possess. Now, I can be an even greater blessing on the earth than ever before.

My sister, you are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works that God planned beforehand that you would walk in them. You are God’s design, and He wants you to become aware of who you are, what you are, and why you are. God has a specific design that He has built within you, a hard-wiring for good, and you will only be fulfilled when you live from that design. I encourage you to do three things:

1) Seek, seek, seek.
Seek the Lord in prayer and ask Him how you are, why you are, and what you are.

2) Share, share, share.
Talk with people (whether a therapist, family, or friends) that make you feel safe enough to share with them.

3) Read, read, read.
You have the Word of God right at your fingertips, and you have a plethora of books by Christian authors that can positively impact your life.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for your wisdom and your encouragement to my soul. Thank you for making me and fashioning me. Father, reveal to me how you made me, what you made me, and why you made me. What is my design? What is my purpose, Father? Thank you for showing me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Good Morning Sister Kesha!! Again, this morning devotional lets me know it is okay. Okay yo want to know more, the desire to be more like Him. The desire to build my spirit man up more and more each day, and to share with others when a reading, Word, or devotional have help me get a good understanding and brought more wisdom and knowledge.
I will continue to press on in Jesus Name. 🙏It’s Jesus Christ which strengthens me. Thank you for being willing and obedient.

  2. Yes, I thank the Lord that He has made me in His image, uniquely knitted into what He wants me to be. I will seek to know who, what and how I am through Him. The Great I AM. Blessings, Shalom and Agape 🙏❤🙏❤🙏

  3. Highly sensitive people are empathy’s, me knowing that because of how you described yourself, I’m in the same boat! Found out a few years back how highly sensitive I am! We are a rare species, But we have a lot to offer the world!

  4. Yes, this is me! Thank you for sharing this. I often feel lost not knowing what my purpose is for being this way (on top of health challenges). I’m glad to know that I am not alone in seeking what that purpose is for me.

  5. Yes, this is me! Thank you for sharing this. I often feel lost not knowing what my purpose is for being this way (on top of health challenges). I’m glad to know that I am not alone in seeking what that purpose is for me.

  6. I ask God these questions all the time. The challenge I have is not being ok with me! Thank you so much for your transparency. ❤️

  7. God really works in mysterious ways…I asked Him to show me what I need to do. Now after reading your devotional Kesha, I’m looking back over last few days I realize the list I made about my likes, dislikes and personality quirks wasn’t me being egotistical or something but it’s is Him showing me just who and what I am.
I can see & feel Him doing other things in my life as He’s not finished with me! My life has taken twists and turns that seem odd to anyone else but I know He’s making something beautiful out of it!

  8. Highly Sensitive Person here wow didn’t even know it was a thing, I would question the Lord, why he made me this way, why can’t I be like everyone else, and he said, he made to stand out and for his purpose.

  9. I don’t know what more to say! You simply can’t grasp what a blessing you are! God continue to keep, bless, and cover Kesha& her family.
Thank you for hearing my heart cry Jehovah- Rapha. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude for the magnitude of love you pour into me.

  10. I have borderline personality disorder & bipolar & cptsd which make life hard, I’ve been deliberately misdiagnosed for decades (to maximize how much dr’s get paid for me being their patient & minimize what they spend to treat me). Many people have physical disabilities. It’s hard to understand God’s plan but yes we have to do what we can to overcome hard situations. Thank you for the advise in this post. Like the book of Job illustrates, it’s hard to accept bad situations but we can’t really understand God’s reasons why things happen that hurt.

  11. Thank you sister for this devotional. I think we all need a reminder of your wise words. I will be praying for you, your family and your ministry. Keep up the good fight!

  12. Me too! Lol….Thank you for this word…yes at 1, 2, 3!
Appreciate you Kesha…lotsa love and a big hug to you…lotsa love to yr fam too x only Jesus♥️

  13. Sounds like you are either a prophet or Prophetic in nature. The word identifies that gifting as empathic or empath. God bless you. I am prophetic as well.

  14. Thank you Sis Kesha for share because I’m highly sensitive person myself But God’s design us so with that we pray and walk in God’s ways I’m just saying well God has all🙏🏾 My God this is awesome🙏🏾
