You don't have to lie. Trust God.

“Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.” Psalms 120:2

Many years ago, I desperately needed a job, so I went to a nearby hotel and met with the supervisor. During a brief interview, she asked me, “Out of all the hotels you can stay at in the world, from the Ritz Carlton to the Waldorf Astoria, which one would you choose?” Feeling desperate, I lied and said I would choose this one. Mind you, this was a run down hotel that didn’t look at all like anything I would want to stay in. But I did what I thought I had to do even if it meant lying. Yes, the supervisor hired me, but I quit the job two weeks later.

A young man was desperate to get his children back from their birth mother so he married a woman whom he discovered was a social worker. He convinced himself that he loved her and romanced her, but in his heart all he really wanted was help getting custody. Two months after he was awarded custody of his children, he divorced her after two years of marriage.

You might suppose that what he did was far worse, but in God’s eyes, there is no difference. In both instances, we lied in order to get what we desperately wanted. The Bible tells us that lying and deceit is an abomination to God and He instructs us to choose the way of truth (see Proverbs 6:16-18; Psalms 119:30).

Through the years, God has matured me and has taught me how to trust Him. If we can’t have something by being truthful, then it’s not worth having. I’ve learned that when we are truthful, we display the character of Jesus and He will bless us with increased favor on our lives!

Prayer: Father God, forgive me for everytime I’ve lied or been involved in deceit. That’s not of you. Grow me up Lord and develop in me your character. Help me when I feel desperate, afraid and tempted to lie. Help me trust you and be confident in your ability to provide and make a way out of no way for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. When you are afraid of telling the truth, especially when you have done something for which you may be ashamed, don’t be. Jesus will be with you every step of the way. Even if you fear losing someone due to the truth you will say. He will be there to rescue you and redeem you.

Keep right on messing with a child of God because Jesus has favor on one’s life you see the Lord Jesus knows when you mess with the wrong child of God then you being to see signs, wonders and miracles being performed, but you don’t believe you even see yourself doing things that you never even thought of, but because you got around someone that really has uncommon just crazy faith in Jesus it’s rubbing off on that individual now in others who is spying tapping into someone’s life Jesus told me to let go in let God do a work in you for my glory that I may be glorified yes Jesus told me years ago that my life was a testimony I really like people who questions the blood of Jesus his glory. …….

You will arise and have pity on Zion; it is the time to favor her; the appointed time has come. For your servants hold her stones dear and have pity on her dust. – Psalms 102:13-14

A selfish man in trouble is exceedingly hard to comfort, because the springs of his comfort are entirely within himself, and when he is sad all his springs are dry. But a large-hearted man full of Christian generosity has other springs from which to supply himself with comfort beside those that lie within. He can go to his God first of all and there find abundant help; and he can discover arguments for consolation in things relating to the world at large, to his country, and, above all, to the Church. David in this Psalm was exceedingly sorrowful; he wrote, “I am like an owl of the waste places; I lie awake; I am like a lonely sparrow on the housetop.”1 The only way in which he could comfort himself was in the reflection that God would arise and have mercy upon Zion. Though he was sad, yet Zion should prosper; however low his own estate, yet Zion would arise.

Christian man, learn to comfort yourself in God’

Try this approach, O believer, whenever you are sad of heart and in heaviness of spirit: Forget yourself and your little concerns, and seek the welfare and prosperity of Zion. When you kneel in prayer to God, limit not your petition to the narrow circle of your own life, tried though it be, but send out your longing prayers Jesus please let your will be done in my life I don’t mind what people think I’m running for my life this world is so wicked the pain and suffering, hurt it has caused me Jesus yes they keep telling people not to help me, keep saying I want everything free that I’m a liar yeah its time to let her do her part let them keep wounding about Jesus because every knee is going to bow every tongue is going to confess that Jesus is Lord you have caused me to cry so much unto the Lord know tears goes void yes I’ve been lied on just loving Jesus in he will show up in show out I feel so naked before the world that I can’t even hardly look at myself because all eyes have seen my body tapping and spying into my world Jesus please help me to stand I know what you’re telling me the pain that I should have never ever had to go through. …..
Jesus the sorrow that I feel thinks be too God you know my destiny, plan and purpose for this life Lord Jesus help me to hold out until my change is come
I don’t have to fake it until I make it so many people have gotten saved, change, hope build up to even run faster for your glory, but still they talk me down like a clown Jesus I’m not happy I feel so sad somtimes I saw myself in a beautiful white wedding dress on last night, but I don’t understand why I’ve come this far by faith hallelujah words cannot explain, but thxs be too God you know my schedule and story until the end men may keep throwing their stones yes I do feel the pain, but I still put my trust in the Lord ppl Jesus knows everyone off our lives and future I’m so glad man didn’t make me think you Jesus for loving Bonnie!

  5. My daughter and I we’re talking about lying how you can avoid it but yet not hurt a person’s feelings . We have a friend of the family and he has a peach tree with white peaches that aren’t very good. He’s putting a lot of pressure on us to come and pick the peaches and make jam but we don’t like the white tasteless peaches and we’re trying to get our home back together after our house was flooded so we’ve been very busy with that. So how do you get around not lying in a situation where it would hurt the person’s feelings to tell them the truth? The only thing I came up with was that we could say that the peaches were very tasty. Tasty is an acronym for us that we made up meaning “tasteless awful super terrible yuck”. So how would you handle the situation you may find yourself in when to tell the truth would hurt their feelings.?

  6. Thank you Jesus for allowing me to listen to what you say and not the WORLD.
NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER. LORD! I TRUST YOU & YOUR WORD. U SE THE BEST IN US.NOT MATTER WHAT THE ENEMY SAYS.

  8. Thankyou Jesus that we want to be like you. You help us to tell the truth so we don’t have to lie. I want to thank the
sisters that counciled me & who prayed for me. I feel so much better now that I know I’m not responsible for my unsaved family. I will still pray for them but from my house. I don’t feel safe going to my moms house so it’s good to hear I don’t have to go there anymore.

  9. Lord help us all to tell the truth God’s words every lies the Trust will set you free and give you the peace you need Amen

  10. So what do you do if you married a guy just to be married and now there is a baby involved. Do you get divorced to end the lie or stay together for the baby.
