You will not be swept away.

“I am the true vine…” John 15:1

Over the years, I’ve had a fear of rivers. The water is too deep to touch the ground with my feet. The current moves fast, and I feared being swept away. I would look for someone or something to hold on to. Anything or anyone who appeared stable. But God began to reveal to me that He is the true vine. He is the anchor of my soul. He is in me and I am in Him. This truth is what holds on to me tightly.

My sister, you will not be overcome by the deep waters, and you will not be swept away. You don’t have to look frantically for someone or something stable to keep you from drowning. Jesus has wrapped Himself around you and is holding on to you tightly. He is the true vine, and you are in Him and He is in you. You are anchored in Christ (see Hebrews 6:19).

Prayer: Lord, thank you for speaking to my heart. You are the anchor of my soul. You are my Lord, my vine, and I am in you and you are in me. You keep me from drowning and from being swept away, and I thank you. Help me, Lord, to not look to people or things to be my stability. Help me hold on to your truth and rest in your love. In Jesus name’, Amen.
