“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11
Elijah didn’t stay in the cave. Daniel didn’t stay in the den of lions. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego didn’t stay in the fire. Lazarus didn’t stay in the grave. Joseph didn’t stay in the prison. The people of Israel didn’t stay in Egypt. In all of these instances, God delivered them, and God will greatly deliver you. If the Lord had an expected end for Elijah, for Daniel, for Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, for Lazarus, Joseph, and all of the people of Israel, He has an expected end for you too.
You’re not pitching your tent in the fire. You’re not making your bed and lying in your mistake. You’re not getting comfortable in the cave. You’re not getting acquainted with the den you’ve been thrown into that the lions become your new family. No, what you’re experiencing is temporary, and it is still temporary even if you’ve been in that place for a long time. God has never and will never give up on you, and the important thing here is for you to not give up on God. He’s going to greatly deliver you. He’s going to do exceeding, abundantly, above all that you can ask or think according to His power working in you. He loves you enough to meet you where you are. Yet, He loves you too much to let you stay where you are.
Prayer: Father, I praise you. You are my great deliverer. Do for me what you’ve done for countless of others. Rescue me. Pull me up out of this place, and bless me to see your mighty hand and your expected end. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
