“Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” Proverbs 18:21, Berean Standard Bible.
Some of us are around here with mouths like a loose cannon, cursing everything in sight. The marriage God gave you. The children God gave you. The friendship you prayed for. The business you begged God to make happen for you. The body that is not losing weight fast enough. The job that is not making enough money. Nothing in our lives is off limits from being called a you know what and told where it can go. Then we wonder why the very thing we spoke against packs up its bags and leaves for good. Withered. Fruitless. We’re a tell like it is generation, and it’s landing us in separation and divorce, in unemployment offices and friendless.
I know you are tired and frustrated, but it’s time to examine your words. Do you really mean what you say, or are you speaking out of frustration? God needs you to reel it in and speak His truth. Not your truth, His, because His truth has a way of bringing light, clarity, and a new way to see and understand. If you curse the very thing you asked God for, you can’t complain when it obeys the command you’ve spoken and no longer produce any fruit whatsoever.
The Lord says, what He’s given you, what He’s put in your hands and entrusted you with, from your marriage to your children, from your friendships to your business, from your body to your mind, bless Him for it. Bless Him, daughter of God. Speak life over it all and you will see it live and produce great fruit!
Prayer: Forgive me, Father God, for every word I’ve spoken that is not pleasing to you. I receive your mercy and grace to speak your truth even when I feel tired and frustrated. I receive the help of your Holy Ghost to not curse what you have blessed me with. I choose to bless you. I bless you for my life. I bless you for my family. I bless you for my marriage and children. I bless you for my business and ministry. I bless you for my body and mind. I make myself bless and curse not. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
