“For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His” Hebrews 4:10, NKJV.
If you stop blowing on the fire, will the fire go out or will it remain? This is the question we ask ourselves when we find that we’ve been doing all of the work to keep something alive. It’s like someone giving all of their breath to keep a flame going because if they don’t, they fear the flame will not survive without them. Women are losing breath in their friendships. We are losing breath in dating relationships. We are losing breath in our personal lives. Giving all we have in trying so hard while we’re slowing fading away. The Lord wants us to stop. He says, just stop.
Any relationship from Him is maintained by Him, my sister. We must stop and see what happens with the friendship if we stop calling so much, stop texting throughout the day, stop giving so much of our time, energy and attention. Will it remain or will it go out? If it remains, we know it is a gift from God, breathed upon by Him, requiring only our presence, not our very breath. If it goes out, we know it was something we’ve kept going but is now time to trust God and move on.
Lord, help me when I’m giving everything to keep a relationship alive. Help me to trust you when I am afraid that if I don’t do all that I’m doing, fires will go out. Help me trust you when I feel like a failure for not being able to make it work. Help me trust you when I have to move on from what has moved on from me. I want what you have breathed on. I want your inspired gifts that only require my presence and nothing more. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Amen! Good morning Father God, my Provider! The Ultimate God! Thank You for blessing me with the relationships that You have breathed on Father God! I Love You! In Jesus Christ name I pray, Amen! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
How does this pertain to a marriage relationship? What if God may not have ordained it in the beginning? Can it thrive and survive now or no? 🙏
This is a wonderful devotional that jas touched my heart and had me evaluating my relationships.
I had the same question. Does this apply to a marriage relationship? When do we stop breathing on it and allow God to take over? Is it quitting? Marriage is a covenant relationship and I don’t want to dissapoint or hirt God. Any thoughts from anyone?
