Because I love me.

“A beautiful woman who rejects good sense is like a gold ring in a pig’s snout” Proverbs 11:22, Christian Standard Bible.

In the Scripture above, King Solomon compares a pig’s nose ring to a woman that is beautiful but has no sense. How can a beautiful woman have no sense? Either she doesn’t know who she is or she’s lost sight of it. She looks in the mirror and only sees a shell of a person. She doesn’t know her value. She’s more abusive to herself inwardly than anyone could ever be to her outwardly. She gives all of her love, time and energy to that which doesn’t care for her at all.

My sister, being fearfully and wonderfully made is more than physical beauty; it is an inner beauty that says “I’m not going to let anyone make me feel like I’m worthless. I’m not going to let anyone disrespect me. I love myself too much. I’m not going to give my heart to anyone that doesn’t value it. I’m not giving my time and attention to those who could care less. I’m saving my words for those who want to listen, because I love me. That’s right! I…love… me!”

Good sense starts the moment you begin to see yourself the way God sees you. The moment you begin to love yourself the way the Father loves you, you become empowered by Him to not put up with anyone’s foolishness. Know your worth.

Prayer: Thank you, Father, that you love me. Help me to see myself the way you see me. Help me love myself the way you love me. I can’t give any love away until I first receive it for myself. I receive your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    1. Yes we are to know our worth as it is in Christ. Yes we are fearfully and wonderfully made and it is indeed good sense when we start recognizing and seeing ourselves the way our loving Father sees us. But please let us not mistake leaning unto our own understanding as good sense because God can place people in our lives to demonstrate unconditional love, even when that person seems undeserving and undervalues everything that we embody…to the saving of their souls….And it is because of knowing your worth and your purpose in Christ, that the Spirit will guide you as to how to deal with each situation taken on its own merit…whether to move forward in His work regardless of how the situation looks to the world or whether to leave it alone. Seeing a situation from the spiritual realm of the battle between good and evil helps us see people and situations differently. When your God-worth is a strong part of your identity, you will know which situations are the ones the Spirit is leading you to persevere in and the ones to let go of. Nothing mere man does or says will allow you to devalue your worth because you are seeing and moving by the spirit and loving that person to Christ while coming against the evil spirit driving their actions. Let the Holy Spirit strengthen and guide you accordingly and even the work that seems like nonsense to the human eye will be accomplished through God’s wisdom and your obedience.
Yes let God fill you with His love and you will have healthy love of self and your God-worth will become strong. Be wise and let Him lead!

      1. I wasn’t expecting a second devotional and I’m sooo glad I read your post! Not only did the devotional come RIGHT ON TIME, but as did your message 🗣🙌🏽. In the last 24 hours I’ve been sent to “preserve” by 3 different sources. I’ve been listening to Him!!! I’ve been going through a hardship with myself due to a paused relationship and I’ve literally cried since Monday because I feel so lost. I must admit that I even broke down at my wits end yesterday morning and said that I feel unworthy of being loved 😔…that I feel useless as a person…as a woman…as a person being on this earth🥺. I BROKE DOWN!!! I’m extremely angry with myself for allowing an individual to have so much power over my happiness and thinking that THAT’S the only way I can love myself. I’m notorious for loving hard, giving my all and investing soooo much into other people, especially a man and I allow it to take over me. My identity is now THEIR identity.

This specific time has caused me to devalue myself in such a way that I’m disgusted with myself for NOT LOVING ME!!!! My friend asked me last night as I grieved, “what makes YOU happy?” and my response was “when I’m around my friends.” I realized that I’m not stable being ALONE. I realized that lean on others for confirmation and validation of love…then, too, I realized I need to lean not on my OWN understanding of love, but rather the understanding of GOD’S LOVE!!! I pray to search for the love and confirmation and validity from GOD 🙌🏽!!! I need to be able to truly and indubitably feel and KNOW that what makes me happy is knowing God loves me and that I love MYSELF the way God loves me!!! I WILL persevere because my God is by my side and is picking me up, wiping my tears, and telling me “I love you!”…and I KNOW it’s true.

  2. Thank you very much for today’s message. I left a 26 year emotionally abusive marriage 3 years ago. The marriage took everything out of me and I could not see my reflection in the mirror. It took some therapy and hard work to get where I am today. Am I fully healed from the abuse, no. But, praise God for brining me to a point where I can see myself. I almost made the same mistake a few months ago but I left that relationship. I can see my worth and I know I am worthy of better. Hallelujah thank you God!

  3. Father God, thank You for Your love 💘 for me and help me to love 💘 myself the way You love 💘 me in Jesus Christ name I pray. Amen and Amen

  5. This has brought me to a place of admitting I have neglected to love myself but first to see myself as God see’s me. I’ve given my best and worse and yet lost it all to careless people that their only concern is themselves. I can’t tel you how many tears I’ve cried hoping that the ones I’ve invested time and loved would see so much in me… but I was wrong! People only see what they expect to see of someone, either way it isn’t enough. I lacked to see the value in which God has made. I have lost my worth and sometimes I say my identity as well in Jesus, I defined myself in others and allow others to define me as their own.

  6. I want to see My self the Way God See Me, I want to Love my self the Way Jesus Loves Me, Thank You Lord for Loving Me, Dont let Me let any one take Advantage of My Love Amen to this Message I Love You with All My Heart, SOUL AND MIND Praises Go All to You 🙌🙌🙌

  7. If you got a prophesied about a certain matter and you’re believing God. That don’t mean you don’t have any sense it just hasn’t come to pass yet. The preacher was a false prophet if it’s come to that.
