Check In and Locate Peace

“And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always]” Colossians 3:15, Amplified.

There are times in my life when I don’t know what to do. Because of everything going on around me, it can sometimes make hearing and receiving God’s direction difficult. But thank God, He has taught me what to do when life gets confusing. The Bible says, let the peace from Christ rule in our hearts. When I don’t know what God wants me to do in a situation, I follow hard after peace.

My sister, it’s important to check-in and ask yourself, “Do I have peace about this decision?” Don’t go if you don’t have peace. Don’t take the job if you don’t have peace. Don’t leave your current situation if you don’t have peace. Don’t purchase the home if you don’t have peace. Don’t marry that guy if you don’t have peace. Let peace govern every decision in your life.

The Lord is our peace, and He will help navigate us through life as we let Him be the Shepherd of ours soul and our guide.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for your peace. When I find it hard to hear your voice, help me check-in, and locate peace. I want to do what you want me to do. Forgive me for not following peace in past decisions. I’m ready to go deeper in my understanding of how to be led by you. Teach me, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    1. There is nothing like God’s peace. I appreciate it more as I seek God, and it was one of the reasons I didn’t move forward in relationships or marriage to someone I thought was the one. As mentioned, allow it to be your guide.

  7. I am thankful for Gods peace. It is only because of his peace that has caused me to stay in character as his witness. May his peace continue to overshadow my doubts, and worries as I lean on him and seek more of him so that his peace will help me to overcome!

  8. Jehovah Shalom – the creator of Peace
El Shalom – God giver of true Peace.
    God is in His peace.
And in His Peace is God

If it doesn’t rest well in your spirit, let it go.

  9. Question.

I agree, I should not make decisions when I am not at peace. However, when I was reading the devotion this morning, the question I asked myself is how do you know it is not fear keeping you from peace.

All my life I am have been fighting against fear. It was spoken over my life that fear is wants to have shackles on my feet but as long as I continue to take one step at a tune it will not consume me. As I have gotten older and stepped into new territory fear is with we daily and some days it wins. But I am constantly speaking against it and trying to not allow it to paralyze me.

So for me often times when I am making a decision, it is only after I have pushed through that I feel a relief.

I say to my friends that my hell is indecisiveness, wavering on decisions. Fear keeps me from making decisions but when I do I am able to walk in peace.

Thank you in advance for responses and prayer.
