The Greatest Chef

“Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!” Psalms 34:8, Berean Study Bible

If I married the world’s greatest chef, people would first ask, “What is it like?” If I had experienced his cooking, I would say, “It is wonderful! Everything he cooks tastes amazing!” However, what if I responded, “I have never tasted his cooking before. Yes, he cooks for everyone else, but I don’t let him cook for me.” To be married to the world’s most excellent chef but never enjoy his cooking doesn’t make sense. Likewise, to be in a covenant relationship with our Father through Jesus but never experience His goodness, His power, His great wisdom, His grace flood, and His mighty deliverance in our lives doesn’t make sense.

God doesn’t just want us to be in covenant with Him, my sisters. He wants His daughters to receive from Him and enjoy every redemptive right we have been given through Jesus. He longs to be good to us today, but He won’t force it. He longs for us to taste and see that He is good. Taste and see that His salvation is good. Taste and see that His deliverance is good. Taste and see that life in Him is good. Let Him show you just how truly amazing He is!

Prayer: Father God, you are my Peace, my Great Physician, my Great Deliverer, and my Great Provider. You are my loving Father, and you are in covenant with me. Help me receive daily from this deep and meaningful, precious, and powerful covenant relationship I have with you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read Galatians 3:14)
