My sister, come back home.

“But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love].” Revelation 2:4, Amplified.

“…In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength…” Isaiah 30:15

A daughter chooses to leave home. On her way out the door, her father says something that stays with her. He says, “I love you, and this is your home. No matter where you go, and no matter what you do, know that you are loved, and you can always return home.” She then heads out the door. Knowing he can’t force her to stay, he prays for her night and day until one morning, he hears a knock at the door. It is his daughter he’s been praying for.

To return is to come to the same state. It is to revisit. When it comes to our heavenly Father, we don’t have to pack our bags and head to another place to leave Him. We abandon Him in our hearts when we choose our way or the world’s way instead of His way. And after our way has left us broken and shattered, we crave home.

My sister, your heavenly Father loves you, and He is your home. He is your rest, and He is your safety. No matter where you find yourself, no matter what you do, you are so loved, and you can return home. The enemy’s ultimate goal is to destroy you, but he doesn’t know your heavenly Father has been fighting for you since the day you were born. He has spoken over your life and has redeemed you from destruction. You are His.

You are still alive because of your Father’s rich mercy and His covenant with you. Jesus, Himself has been interceding for you. It’s time to return home to your First Love. He will wrap His arms around you, restore you, and love you as though you never left His side.

Prayer: Father, I repent of anything I’ve done that is not like you. Forgive me for thinking my way is better than yours. I come to you. Father, you are my home and my safety. Thank you for your grace and mercy. You never give up on me. Your unfailing love and kindness are more than I can comprehend. I pray that you keep me close to your side and be glorified in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  3. I needed this so much today. I know we mKe mistakes and last weekend I made a big one. I feel so far from God amd I have already repented, but I feel so alone like God has left me. I’m really in a funk, maybe depressed. I’m praying and staying in faith, but I keep being told my breakthrough is coming for the past year, I don’t know how long I can hold on. Then I was reminded of Job and how much he endured.
I will press on. The testing of this season in my life feels so lonely. Thank you for these spot on devotionals that are helping so many of us.
God bless you all on the writing team!!
