“This is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us; And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him” 1 John 5:14-15, KJV.
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us” Ephesians 3:20, KJV.
My niece has a close relationship with her father. She has total confidence in him. Whenever she’s in lack, she knows who to call on. Last week, she realized that she needed materials for school. She called her dad and told him exactly what she needed. I remember asking her if he would have the material before the following week. She said, “I don’t know when he’s going to bring it, but he’s going to bring it.” Sure enough, he was on time and brought more than she asked for.
Like an earthly father cares for his daughter and tends to her every need, your Father in heaven does that and beyond—the exceedingly and abundantly. When we go to God in prayer concerning our lives or the lives of others, it shows that we have confidence in Him. We don’t turn to anyone else but Him. He’s our provider. He’s our Father. As a matter of fact, He knows our need before we even ask. How amazing is that? We can rest in knowing that the God of the universe hears us and will always do His part because He’s a faithful God.
Prayer: Lord God, we thank you for being our provider and refuge. You have been a faithful Father to us and for that we bless your name. Our trust is in You and You alone. We trust that you hear the cries of your daughters. Help us to not worry about what we don’t have, but what we do have—we have You and we are content with that portion. Thank you in advance that every need is met. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Lord “You have compassed me about with songs of deliverance, what time I am afraid I will trust in you ” Help us to keep our eyes on you. You always come though in YOUR time. I love you Lord. And thank you again sweet DOTK♡
HALLELUJAH, Thank you God, I can count on you for my every need. You are always there when I call upon you name JESUS…..you’re always on time. I have confidence in you because I can look back in my life and see how you came through for me so many times HALLELUJAH. Thank you again In Jesus Name Amen 🙏🕇🕇🕇
Thank you Father, For who you are. Thank you for always providing my needs according to your riches and glory. Father I know that I can always count on you as, my provider. I give you all the praise and honor and glory. I have full confidence that you will always come thru. I love you Lord with all my heart.
Thank you Lord for always being that light at the end of the tunnel.
I appreciate this message. I’d also add that not all earthly fathers are tending to and caring for their daughter’s every need. Quite the contrary in many cases, including mine. Gaining confidence in God by using our own father as a measure may be a very bad idea, even if it’s framed up as meeting and exceeding our needs.
1 John 5:14-15
