Confidence.

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

Being confident is the terminology used by the Apostle Paul while sitting in a dark, filthy dungeon. He wrote to the church at Philippi. And though his external conditions grew worse, he was becoming increasingly confident, convinced and inwardly certain that what God had started in them, He would complete.

It is the nature of God to allow you to face tough situations to bring out the best in you. It is only in tests and trials that we discover that God truly lives in us. It is only when someone accuses you of being something you’re not, that you open your Bible to find who you truly are in Him. Our being reassured by Him increases our confidence.

Don’t allow that negative situation to cause you to become deflated and discouraged. You may be ready to head for the hills, but God says to, “Look to the hills from whence comes your help. Your help comes from the Lord” (see Psalm 121:1-2).

Declare this today from your heart:

“The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!” Habakkuk 3:19, Amplified Bible

Prayer: Father God, I thank you for speaking to my heart so clearly. I have lost confidence, but I ask you to please restore it. Make me strong and full of confidence in you. In Jesus name, Amen.

  8. Maybe someone needs to hear this testimony of God’s unfailing love. We prayed and waited for ten, 10 years, long years…for our grandchildren to be returned to their mother, our daughter. They were taken from her, given to their father where they were abused and mistreated on a daily basis. Thru it all the Lord promised to take care of them and all of us. We went thru anger, despair, grief, bitterness, but God! He turned our mourning into dancing and has returned them to their mom. She never gave up! Went to court, represented herself and with the help of our loving Father got them back. They are loving, caring 14, 16 and 17 year old teens that know the love of God and their family that fought for them. We have CONFIDENCE that thru all things He will make a way and keep us and heal us and love us! He is a faithful daddy!

      1. Thank you! They’re so hungry to know the Lord more and such a blessing to be able to share His love and Word with them!

  9. Timely. I have lost confidence. I’ve been disappointed before and weathered it. But this time I’m disappointment in myself. I feel lonely and lost for it.

    Please pray for me.

  13. I totally understand how Paul felt while in an uncomfortable place as well as to be treated less then what it is, and who it.is God has calles him to be and walk in.
I’ve allowed situations, circumstances, word curses and ridicule to hinder me in my walk with God.
This has had an effect on my walking in confidences.
I’ve allowed mistakes to keep me from moving forward as well.
But for the grace of God, I’ve started classes at my church to help me in understanding how past trauma and current behaviors are connected.
This devotional encourages me as I uncover, recover, and allow God to clear out the debris from the wounds of my past and present traumatic events..this is God doing the work on the inside of me in order to complete the work though me.that I may walk as Paul…and not to be affected any longer by past or currents.events that come and show up to hinder my walk and my assignment in the earth and with Christ Jesus and Holy Ghost.can one day some use me for what I was created to and for the Glory of God..

  16. This reminded me of the old Andre` Crouch song and now my new mantra:
“When trouble is in my way
I can’t tell my night from day
When I’m tossed from side to side
Like a ship on a raging tide
    I don’t worry I don’t fret
My God has never failed me yet
Troubles come from time to time
    But that’s all right,
I’m not the worrying kind because

    I’ve got confidence
God is gonna see me through
No matter what the case may be
I know He’s gonna fix it for me”

  17. I really needed this! Right on time! Please continue to allow The Lord to speak vicariously through you my sister! God Bless You!

  18. Wow wow wow the word never returns to Him void
My precious sister in the Lord just sent this messaging and all the testimonies And it was much needed in my life Sometimes we need to be reminded even if we know what the word says and agree with what the word says sometimes we just need to have it being brought to our remembrance. But I know it’s wonderful to know that God has a people That love Him and have the confidence about what His word say about us all. Aallelujah and Amen
    Thank you Sister Danielle
