For our Children

“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea” Mark 9:42, ESV.

While praying one morning, I began to cry for the children around the world. I prayed that the Lord would intervene in their lives and save them. There are children suffering from poverty, abuse, and neglect.

So many children don’t know what a peaceful home is. They have no clue what love is. Their “normal” is dysfunction. Their “normal” is instability. Sometimes we are not aware of how our decisions are affecting our children. We must pray to God for His wisdom. Yet, some things are common sense and don’t require much prayer. If you’re in an abusive relationship, it is your responsibility to protect your babies. It doesn’t matter how much you love the man. If you’re in a church that’s doing nothing to reach the children or the youth, it’s time to find a new church home that minister to them on their level. It doesn’t matter how much you love the pastor. If you’re in a city that is increasingly harmful and unsafe for your babies to live in, it’s time to move. So many selfish women are putting their children last when they should be first. The moment you gave birth to them, they became your first priority. I challenge you today, to see the world from your children’s eyes. I challenge you to do right by them. I challenge you to become a better mother and increase in grace and wisdom.

God will help you single mother. God will help you my sister who have taken custody of children in your family in order to provide a safe environment. God will help you stay-at-home mom who is trying to hold it together. Your time will come, but for now focus on your babies and their well-being.

Prayer: Father God, you hear my heart’s cry for the children in this world. Help them Lord. Protect them and fight for them. They can’t fight for themselves. Help their parents to make necessary changes needed so they can grow and be healthy. Place children in loving homes and remove them from abusive hands. I ask you give mothers the grace and wisdom they so desperately need. Help them Lord to see how their actions affect their children. Help them not be selfish and blinded. Open their eyes to see clearly. Do this for the children’s sake. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

  8. Well said I stand in agreement with that powerful prayer. Funny thing yesterday I was feeling angry at my mother and a person I was in a relationship with. For putting me last a after thought a second thought. I was a by product of abuse and neglect abandonment . the patternsxforged from childhood etc. Then it dawned on me to put myself first right now and take care of myself remove myself from these destructive relationships. I remember many years ago. My husband had relapsed. That meant severe abuse. I turned around and I saw the look he gave our dog that was enough for me to leave. My dogs were my babies. Lord I pray that you remove destruction from my life. Let boldness arise 0 tolorence for abuse . including any type or form of harm or abuse towards myself any destructive behaviors. Heal my wounds let the healthy patterns and boundaries arise let your nature be my nature. Help me to discern abuse and harm to be a voice to the voiceless. To speak up and speak out to help empower others to find that voice to say no to abuse. And give moms the courage and the courage and strength to do the right. thing. Give me the courage and the strength to do the right thing. Yes Lord cover all the children of the world with your blood your protection from harm and any form of abuse release your love glory protection provision amen

  9. Thanks for posting this prayer. It gave me chills and spoke to my heart when I was reading it. At the same time, I became very sad for ask the children that won’t experience a healthy normal childhood. God be with them and protect them always.

  10. Thank you, God! I love this message directed to help me today. I work in a public school and always pray for the students, but this past week I have been specifically praying for a family of 6 children who just moved back to our area. These beautiful gifts from God are living in the enemy’s bondage. Our system is failing them, but praise God that He is greater than any human and can change the situation. God, please put this family in the the right place and time for their ears and eyes to be opened! God bless all children!
