“The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it” Proverbs 10:22, NKJV.
Here is understanding that can help you in life, if you receive it:
Some people aren’t ready to change.
Some people don’t want your help.
If you can understand these two things, you will save yourself a lot of time and heartaches. Like so many women in this world, you may be wired to fix things, fix people and try to make things better. You would probably bend over backward if you knew someone needed your help. But what do you do when they don’t want the help you are trying so hard to give? As frustrating as it can be, you must know when it’s time to move on and live your life.
There is no sense in exerting all of your time and energy, and spending all of your money on someone that doesn’t care anything about their own well-being. You can bring a horse to the water, but you cannot force it to drink. So many women are deeply depressed today because they gave everything to someone that could care less. They bought cars, houses, clothes and shoes for someone that didn’t want their help. Now their credit is all messed up and the man is gone out the door, the person is gone back on the streets, the relative ended up right back in jail, and the friend went back to the abusive relationship. When will we ever learn!?
Thank God we are wired the way we are, but we must know when to back off and let God do the fixing. Let Him do the changing. Let Him do the delivering and setting free. Bless them, encourage them and yes, keep on praying for them, but you go on and live your life! Go on and fulfill God’s plan for YOU! Put all of your energy, time and focus into making yourself better so you can live a well-balanced and fruitful life!
Now let’s pray: Wow, Lord. You know how to get my attention. I needed this word today. I have found myself trying to help people that do not want to help themselves. It’s frustrating and tiring. I give it all to You, and I place them in your hands. Only You can change their situation. Strengthen me. Replenish me. Restore what I gave away out of good intentions, and help me to move forward and live my life to the full. In Jesus name, Amen.
