Get the Facts

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthyβ€”meditate on these things” Philippians 4:8, NKJV.

It happens to be that 99.9% of the time, whenever we assume something, our assumptions are usually wrong. We can think, “He walked by me because…”, “She didn’t respond because…”, or “They didn’t invite me because…” When we assume, we are making judgments without knowing the real facts. Assumptions can keep our minds preoccupied all throughout the day, and if we aren’t careful, we will create emotions about something that hasn’t been proven to be true. Our body doesn’t know the difference between an assumption and a fact and will respond as if everything it feels is real.

Maybe they didn’t invite you because they forgot. Maybe she didn’t respond to you because her life has been extremely busy lately. Maybe he walked by you because he was focused on getting somewhere on time and didn’t see you. Everything people do is not because they don’t like you or because they feel something negative about you. Don’t let assumptions ruin you. If you feel it’s important to know something, it is wise to ask. We can’t think about “whatever is true” if we don’t know what is true.

Prayer: Father God, my mind has been bogged down with assumptions. I assume everything without knowing the facts. Help me learn to reject any thought that the enemy tries to plant in my mind about someone or something. Help me to think on whatever is true. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Thanking God for you Sister Tripplet. Everyday faithfully through Christ I must read what God placed in you to Serve for the soul. I am in AWE… right now. I know I don’t comment on every read. But this read Sis. I needed it because that has been a heavy battle and burden on me. I am in tears right now. I know God has set you as o e of His precious vessels. Glory be to God in our Savior Jesus Christ for your obedience and willingness to be of service to serve your siblings in Christ and to reach those who need to know their place in Christ. I so love your soul in the Lord. Blessings to all. Hallelujah Alleluia Hallelujah Amen in Jesus Name. πŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ

  2. Amen! Thank you for this devotional on today, I needed it and it was right on time. I have been going through this lately with assuming things.

  3. Wow, Amen and Amen. This is a right on time word and a confirmation word for me sister. I know you walk with God and this gives me a hope and a reassurance that I am walking with the Lord myself, I struggle with Attention Deficit Disorder and this is a real problem that some of us with this disorder struggle with. I have done this so many times and too many times to count. It’s not only with people but even the fear of how certain things will play out. You shed some great light on how your body cannot tell the difference between the real or the fake, it just responds. We do not realize the turmoil we unnecessarily put our bodies through on a daily basis. Thank you for this word. I pray daily for anyone that struggles with ADHD that feels like they are never good enough or just cant get the simple things right, to seek Yahweh daily for His word to renew our mind, for him to cast out all fear, and for the reassurance that he hasn’t given us the spirit of fear, but power, love and sound mind. Thank you for this on time word. May the Lord continue to use you and I continue pressing through prayer for my purpose revelation. Amen

  11. Thank you so much for this word. I really needed to hear this. I assume so many things and I need God to help me.

  12. Lord, help me not to assume by keeping my mind and heart on You and Your love and all situations. Help me to seek Your love and not that of people.

Lord I know through Your love for me nothing else should matter. Let me always humbly remember this.

Take the blindness off of me that I will see Your Glory in all that I am going through. Help me to see myself through Your word and always know the truth.

Forgive me when I fall short and react in ways that doesn’t give You the glory.

I love You Lord for not leaving me the same.

Bless Sis.. Keisha and her ministry as she has been a blessing to me.

    Thank you.

    Blessings, Shalom and Agape.
