Give Him your cares, momma.

“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5:6-7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

My two year old loves to carry all of her teddy bears and dolls in her arms. Whenever, I try to help her, she says, “No, I’ll do it!” She may care for her things, but I care for her and my arms are bigger!

The Lord is the same way. He cares for you and His arms are much bigger than yours. When Jesus needed transportation, He instructed His disciples to go and get a donkey. The disciples asked, what do we tell the owner while we’re loosing it? He said, tell the owner the donkey is needed for the Lord’s service. They did as Jesus instructed and the owner let Jesus use the donkey. Then the disciples threw their coats onto the donkey so Jesus could sit on it while riding through town.

The Greek word used for “casting all of your cares” is found only in one other place in Scripture, and that is here in Luke 19:35 where it says they threw their coats on the donkey. They threw something they owned that was personal to them.

Your cares are personal to you and are legitimate. Any woman would be concerned if her loved one was diagnosed with COVID, or if there was no income due to job cuts and lay offs. Any woman would be concerned about the state of our world, the social climate, and worried about the future for our children. These are legitimate cares and concerns.

The thing we must understand, however, is God doesn’t tell us to give our cares to Him because they are unimportant or a light matter. No, He wants us to release our cares to Him because He cares for us and He cares about every thing that concerns us. However, He can’t do what He desperately wants to do as long as we are holding on to our cares. Just as the disciples coats became something Jesus sat on, God wants to cause you to reign over the very thing that’s weighing you down and crushing you. Give Him your cares, momma. Give them all to Him. His arms are bigger. His ability is greater.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for loving me more than I ever realized. You care about every detail of my life. You care about what is tugging at my heart and causing me unrest. Your arms are bigger and so is your ability. I humble myself and give my cares to you. All of them. I release them now, and I receive rest in my soul by faith. I trust you to do what only you can do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  3. I sooo needed this today. I feel so much anxiety. Besides the election, unrest, and ugliness in the world right now, I have a couple of other issues I am so nervous about. I trust and believe that I can lay them at the Saviors feet… why can’t I? Thank you God for your word🙏

  4. Yes, Lord. I thank You Lord for caring for me and all my concerns. Thank You for never leaving my sons and me or forsaking us in the storms of life. Sometimes it takes an effort to let go so You can do what only You can do, when You are all we have. But, today I move out of Your way and give all to You as ask for Your forgiveness.

Heavenly Father, please give each of Your daughters peace that surpasses all understanding as we trust in and give You all of our cares. Please work all things out for Your good. In Jesus’ name.

Thank you Sis. Kesha. Many Blessings, Shalom and Agape.

  5. AMEN!! I am learning to give Him everything and everyone. He can handle it, I can’t. Thank You for loving me so much that You want my cares upon Your shoulders and not mine.
    God bless You ❤️❤️

  6. Woman of God I want to take the time to let you know how much of a blessing and an inspiration you are to me. I really do hope that you get to see this message because the Lord has been using you to speak to EVERY area of my life (no stones unturned). At one point I even decided that I would stop meditating on your posts because I want to know that this is really God and not just me relying on the devotionals. Lo and behold I was subsequently brought to one of the lowest points in my life and the Lord used you again to minister to my spirit- to the exact situation. None of your words are ever wasted. I share them with my friends. You speak them under the anointing of the Holy Spirit and I can’t thank God enough for your obedience and faithfulness. I pronounce a blessing over you and your family. I ask that the Lord will enlarge your territories and provide for you all, in His super abundant, overflowing manner. Thanks again for your commitment and I love you with the love of the Lord.
