God’s love is enough.

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved” Ephesians 2:4-5, ESV.

All I wanted was forgiveness
All I wanted was love
How I longed for your acceptance
Your unconditional love
But when I fixed my eyes upon the Lord
He forgave me
Yes, when I fixed my eyes upon the Lord
He saved me
And all of my desire for love
Yes, all of my reaching around for love
Was met in the Lord

God gave me this song during a time when I needed love the most. My sister, I was desperate. God would tell me, “I love you!” But in my heart I would say, “I know, but I want their love.” He would say, “Kesha, I accept you.” But I would say, “God, I know, but I want their acceptance.” He would tell me over and over again how much He’s forgiven me, and I would say, “I know, but I need to know they forgive me.” His love didn’t feel like it was enough for me, but I’m so thankful He reached down and saw the place I was in and helped me focus my eyes on Him.

Maybe you’re in a similar situation. You are struggling to believe God’s love is enough. It is. Take your need to the Father, and fix your eyes on Him. His love is enough for you, even when it feel like it’s not. All you truly need is Him. Any relationship God blesses you with outside of your relationship with Him is the icing on the cake. It’s an added blessing to what you already have in God.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for speaking to me. Help me fix my eyes on you. Only you can give me the love I need. Only you can fill this void. Forgive me for thinking your love wasn’t enough for me. It is. You are what I need. I receive your love, your forgiveness, your acceptance and your grace. Thank you Lord for supplying my every need through Christ. And when you bring relationships into my life, help me remember that you are my ultimate source of love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
