Great news! You are growing!

“And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing” James 1:4, ESV.

One day I sat outside and stared at a tree. I wanted to see it grow. I sat for a little while and after I didn’t see anything, I gave up and left. I came back some days later and noticed the tree was taller than before.

Just because you may not see your growth, doesn’t mean you’re not growing.

We are in a season of growth and maturity in the Body of Christ. God is perfecting His saints. We are learning how to apply our faith, how to walk in His love, how to see with our spiritual eyes and hear with our spiritual ears. We are learning how to live wisely, how to win the lost with compassion, and how to suffer and lay our lives down for Him. We have come through His pruning and now we are seeing beautiful growth in our lives. It is a true blessing to grow in Christ. See your growth, no matter if it’s an inch of progress. Be glad you are growing. Be glad you are getting better and better every day.

Even when you default to old ways for a brief moment, just ask His forgiveness and keep on going. The enemy would love for you to stop, but don’t give him the satisfaction. “Keep on growing in Me”, the Spirit of God says. “My rewards are great when you let Me prune you, when you let Me mature you and make you wiser than you ever imagined you’d be.”

Prayer: My Father, I am excited about the growth track you have me on. You are a wonderful God! Keep on pruning me, keep on maturing me and helping me grow in Christ. I thank you for helping me get better and better everyday. All the small foxes that are eating away at my vine, help me remove them. When I feel I haven’t moved an inch, Help me Lord to stay encouraged. Open my eyes to see what you’ve accomplished in me so far. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It’s easier to look back and thank Him for his mercy and grace during my trial. It is so much more depressing and dark while I’m going through it. It’s very hard for me to pray and see anything good. Praise you Father for always bringing me through and giving me growth and wisdom. Help me please to learn and keep your word in my heart for the next trial.
