Greater Obedience

“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” Romans 5:19

God can take the smallest seed of obedience and yield the greatest Kingdom results. All He needs is your actions, not your lip-service.

You may be thanking God that the sister who started this devotional ministry obeyed the Lord’s calling and did what He asked of her. Now, what about you? Who is thanking God that you obeyed Him? Who is saying about you, “I’m so glad she obeyed God and stepped out on faith!” What will your obedience produce in your home, in your church, and in your community? Your obedience can cause many to follow God.

You may feel like one person against one thousand, but know that you and God always represent a majority! You’re never outnumbered in Him! Never! Don’t underestimate the seemingly small task the Lord has given you, it will yield great results that will impact future generations after you.

You may say, “How can I obey God; I can’t hear His voice and I don’t know what He’s asking me to do.” Well, until God fine tunes your ability to hear Him, you still have 66 books of Bible verses filled with instructions on how you are to live your life. Obey His written word. Obey how He says we are to treat people (see 1 Peter 1:22). Obey how He says we are to run from sexual sin (see 1 Corinthians 6:18). Obey how He says we are to be a light in a dark world (see Ephesians 5:8). Obey how He says we are to forgive those who hurt us (see Mark 11:25-26). Obey how He says we are to share Him with others (see Mark 16:15). Your obedience will yield great results in God’s Kingdom!

Prayer: Father God, thank you for speaking so clearly to me. Forgive me for any disobedience in my life. Forgive me for every time I’ve told you yes in my prayer closet, but no in my actions. Help me to obey you and to not just give you lip-service. Help me to honor you with my life. Use me in my home, church and community. Help me to do what you’re asking of me so you will be glorified. Whether I want to do it or not doesn’t matter. Whether I understand your instructions or not doesn’t matter. I’ll obey you because you’re my King. I ask you to sit on the throne of my heart and reign in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  6. I couldn’t imagine going back to a job after 20 plus years, I said I would never work there again. But God had another plan. I sometimes question God why I have ended up here. I knows He has a plan. I’m trusting and walking in obedience! He knows whats best for me and He hasn’t disappointed me yet!!! God and I together is more than a 100 or 1000 that may be against me.

  7. PRAISE YOU, LORD GOD, MAGNIFICNT KING & LORD OF ALL!
Yes, obedience is better than sacrifice; & that means not just doing what HE says, but, also WHEN HE says to do it. Procrastination IS disobedience.
Holy Spirit, please help us to ALWAYS be obedient, even when we don’t understand. Help us to trust His Sovereignty, for He knows better than we do what’s best & He only wants the best for us.
    TRUST & OBEY.

  8. Lord, thank You for the Word, the message and the messenger. Lord, forgive me for the times I have given your message second thoughts. Today I will heed your voice and forthwith obey. In Jesus name.
