My Affirmation

I created this affirmation for my own spiritual walk, but it’s too helpful to keep it to myself. I encourage you to read this out loud and it will bless you and bring you into focus today.

I am who God says I am.

Who does God say I am? I am a daughter of the King and He is my heavenly Father. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am saved and called with a holy calling, not according to anything I’ve done or haven’t done, but according to God’s own purpose and grace which He gave me in Christ Jesus before the world began. I am God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works which He planned beforehand that I will walk in. I am a chosen generation, a royal priesthood and a holy nation. I am redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus. I am healed by the stripes of Jesus. I am bought with a great price. I am accepted into the family of my Father. I am loved unconditionally by Him. I am covered with the favor of God as with a shield. I am in the palm of His hands and no one can pluck me out. I am His, and He is mine. Who I am in Christ doesn’t change with how I feel. Who I am in Him doesn’t change with outward circumstances. I am who God says I am.

I have what God says I have.

What does God say I have? I have a covenant relationship with God through Jesus. I have peace with God through Jesus. I have access to God by the blood of Jesus. I have spiritual power and authority given to me by God. I have the mind of Christ. I have the Holy Spirit (my Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby) dwelling with me and living in me. I have both natural and spiritual gifts given to me by God. I have the love of God shed abroad on my heart by the Holy Spirit given to me. I have the truth of God’s Word in my heart. I have my name written in the Lamb’s book of Life. I have a promise from God that He will never leave me or abandon me. I have the entire heavenly host guarding me and strengthening me. I have a purpose. I have a bright future in Christ. What I have in Him doesn’t change with how I feel. What I have in Him doesn’t change with outward circumstances. I have what God says I have.

I can do what God says I can do.

What does God’s Word say I can do? I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. I can go boldly to the throne of grace 24/7 and obtain mercy and find grace to help me in my time of need. I can do the works of Jesus, even greater works, because He went to the Father. I can share with others my testimony of how God saved me and is transforming my life. I can lay hands on the sick and they will recover. I can be still and know that He is God. I can call things that be not as though they are. I can hear the voice of God. I can receive wisdom and instruction from His Word. With His help, I can run through a troop. With His help, I can leap over a wall. I can guard my heart and set healthy boundaries. I can trust Him to take care of me. What I can do in Him doesn’t change with how I feel. What I can do in Him doesn’t change with outward circumstances. I can do what God says I can do.

I too enjoy the devotions but sometimes I wonder if the readers go into the Bible and see the context of the verses. Like Romans 4:17. Does that verse really say to us that we can call things into being that never was?? I thought only God can do that! And it seems to me that that verse is referring to God as the One who quickens the dead and call things into being not Abraham. Even if God performs a miracle at our request, which He can certainly give His disciples power to do, He’s the one that existed before so we are not calling anything into existence that He didn’t already create. My concern is that a subtle flaw like this, [where the enemy as he usually does, try to get created beings to believe that we are gods just like he believes], can make us think that we can be like God and do the works that ONLY God can do. I will have to go and do some reading and research guided by the Holy Spirit, on the affirmation that “I can call things that be not as though they are.” Maybe I’m misunderstanding
or misinterpreting what the devotional writer means. But hey, notwithstanding that, we should all still be encouraged to test the things we read/hear. Pray the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Have a blessed day.

        1. Hi greetings in the precious love of Christ. Yes we can call things that are not existing into being…..that means you can actually change the state of your life to another level …..that level you wat to be you can get into it by calling it into existence by the power of the holysipirit. We are not ordinary especially if you’re born again you are more than a man..you are a spirit being

  1. Wow great perspective and reminder on who we are in Christ.
Not trying to take away from the beautiful message.
But have you seen 100% recovery on those you lay hands of the sick?

I cannot see a Biblical sound doctrine on this phrase.
” I can lay hands on the sick and they will recover.”
God doesn’t always heal the sick or “recover” them here on Earth.

He didn’t for our dear friend with breast cancer and many others. I have seen prayers answered in some where God healed them for a few years to eventually succumb to cancer or covid complications etc

But our hope for loss of loved ones, to those who put their faith in Jesus Christ alone is that God
gave them a new body in heaven. That’s how he brought recovery.

    In Psalm 139 it says
“Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
    Psalms 139:16 NIV
    https://psalm.bible/psalm-139-16

We have a set “ordained” days. We are all going to die in our mortal bodies. That’s reality.

Paul’s “thorn was not healed. Here is what he says.
    In 2 Corinthians 12
7 or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. 8 Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

    Did God heal Paul’s thorn?

God can heal and do miracles even today. But his will be done.
God is on the throne not us.
    The Biblical theology
needs to be considered as a whole Book of God not one verse here and there without complete context.. The “name it and claim it” practice is bad for our faith, in my opinion.

This kind of expectations destroyed the young faith of several in my family. Can potentially give the enemy a chance to make us
doubt God’s goodness and sovereign plan,
when he doesn’t answer our prayers for healing diseases etc

    I enjoy your devotionals
Blessings and thank you for your encouragement 🙏

    1. I agree that prosperity theology is false (un-biblical heresy) I was going to ask why God does not always heal. I guess He answers prayers but we don’t always like the answer.

    2. Mark 16:16-18 is the biblical doctrine. I agree one times they are not healed on this side of heaven. I believe they were still healed though. Sometimes God doesn’t take things away so we will keep drawing our strength from him. But I have seen him heal people as well when they went and prayed and had people lay hands on them. There is a church in my community and the power of God is there. There was a man who had a brain tumor and he went and got prayer when he went back to doctor it wasn’t there. Not saying your friend wasn’t a believer but God has other plans sometimes nd other ways to heal. But I know his power is still available today like it was in the bible. Looking for more miracles each day.

  9. Thank you for this affirmation. Sometimes I need to just to reRead the affirmation to get through the circumstance. Or in the morning after prayer. Thank you.

  10. The word of God says, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, nothing shall be impossible for you. So it has to do with our faith in believing that God heals through us, and also the person needing the healing,.. how much Faith do they have? It is All for God’s glory, either way. I believe that when Jesus told his disciples, “You shall do greater things than these” that pertains to us as His disciples also. When The Holy Spirit descended to us, that means God is within us, God with us; so why wouldn’t we be able to have God work through us! Thank you Father, Thank you Jesus, Thank you Holy Spirit!!!

  11. I continue to re read this, when I need uplifting, when people or satan tends to throw their fiery darts at me.
I also share this quite often with my children and my sister. We all need these Affirmations written in our minds and hearts 💕. Thank you sister Keisha.
