His Embrace

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you foreverβ€”The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you” John 14:16-17, Amplified.

Who do you know that can give great hugs? Is it your mother? Your grandmother? Your aunt? There are people that having the hugging gift. Their hugs are filled with so much love and if you’re the type that love hugs, you can find yourself asking, “Will you please hug me again?” When someone gives you a hug, you feel as though everything is going to be alright. That’s how it feels when Holy Spirit comforts us. It’s a great big bear hug of the heart. The kind where you are all squished. You may be someone who doesn’t like hugs, but if you let God’s Spirit begin to comfort you and embrace your heart, you will become completely defenseless. His comfort lets you know that everything is going to be alright, and that He’s got you.

  7. My earthly Father taught by example how to hug well, I have been told that I give good hugs. My Dad passed away March of 2019, so this devotional gave me a hug I needed. Thank you for reminding me the Holy Spirit is there to hug us when we need it.
