No, You Need Peace

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” Isaiah 26:3, NKJV.

I’ll never forget a season in my life when every time I went to the altar for prayer the minister would tell me that I needed peace. I would go to them and say, “I need prayer for wisdom because I’m having to make important decisions.” They would look at me and say, “No, you need peace.” Then I would go up to the altar again the next Sunday-this time to a different person-asking for prayer for my marriage and family. Same response, “No, you need peace.” After this happened several times I became frustrated because I thought I already had peace. So I asked my husband, “Do I look peaceful to you?” He smiled and said, “No, you look like you always have a lot on your mind.” I didn’t have peace at all because my mind was on everything else but God.

Peace is more than a feeling, it’s a knowing that everything is going to be alright because God is in control. It’s a song on your heart and an attitude of praise because you know God won’t let you down. In every situation, you can trust in the Lord to make good on His promises to you. You can choose not to worry about how He is going to do it or when He will come through. You can choose to fix your mind on His promises instead of the problems because you know He loves you, He’s with you and He is in full control.

Prayer: Father God, I thank You for speaking to my heart. You are my faithful God and I love You! Help me to keep my mind stayed on You. Keep me in Your perfect peace. I can’t do anything in my own strength. You are the only One who can do it. I put my total trust in You right now and I ask that You be glorified in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Father, I thank You for speaking to me by using my sister-in-Christ to confirm the dream You gave me for clarity. My dream brought me to Your Word when Jacob’s name was changed to Israel. My hip was touched last night as I was dreaming and there was a pop that made the pain go away in my hip. Me seeing what had me chained up, I was on top of it. 🗣️🗣️🗣️Oh! Glory to God!!! It gave me peace. Your peace!!! Thank You, Father, for Your peace not worrying how or when because I can’t do it in my own strength. But, to wait on You, Lord, and be of good courage as I’m waiting on Your promises that are sure!!! Thank You for loving me with an everlasting love! Be glorified, God! ❤️❤️❤️🛐🛐🛐🔥🔥🔥
