“Wisdom is supreme; so acquire wisdom. And whatever you may acquire, gain understanding. Prize her, and she will exalt you; if you embrace her, she will honor you.…” Proverbs 4:7-8, Berean Study Bible.
My sister, if God tells you to walk one mile with your sister, but you take it upon yourself to walk one hundred miles, you cannot complain of being exhausted. Nor can you complain if she doesn’t want to walk one hundred miles with you. Who told you to do all that you’re doing for people and they momma? The fault is ours and ours alone when we go over and above for people when it don’t take all of that. After forty two years of living on God’s green earth, the truth finally hinobody I one asks us to walk all those miles. No one. I have learned to do only what God tells me to do and nothing more. Nothing extra trying to be a greater blessing. Now, I only do what He placed on my heart to do.
The truth is, our Father needs us to manage our time and energy more wisely. He has given us a certain amount of time and energy each day. It’s up to us how manage it. If we give out trying to do more than what He’s required of us, we will become depleted quickly and of no use to His purpose and plan. What God tells you to do for her or him is enough. What He tells you to give her or him is enough.
Prayer: Father, thank you for your wisdom. You know me. I’ve been wearing myself out trying to be a great friend. Help me be satisfied and content with your seemingly small instructions. Help me when I want to cross an ocean for someone and all you’re telling me to do is call them and pray for them. Help me, Father, obey you and manage wisely the time and energy you give me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Amen My God My God wow wow wow sister you did it again confirmation and tears are rolling down my face glory to God hallelujah and I’m saying the prayer in the name of Jesus Father God thank you for your wisdom you know me I’ve been wearing myself out trying to be a great friend confirmation help me to be satisfied and content with you Father God in the name of Jesus Amen again 🙏🏽 Thank you sister love you God bless you❤🙌🏽
Amen. Yes this a Good one . I needed to hear this again. My co worker told me that she would not do for me what I do for her and the other lead person I told her I can’t help who I am , a team player.
Help me Father to do ONLY what is asked of me.
When you do 150% because you care, you allow others to do only 50% of what’s their part !! Your best 100% is more than enough and you’ll have time+energy for other things like self-care!!
Amen Thank you I needed to read this.. Yes you can carry the weight of everyone else to à point it can wear you out and cloud your mind to where you can’t think for yourself.. So thank you Keisha for this Wisdom word Bless you❤️
Good Morning ☀️
Hallelujah! Amen! As all of the other ladies have stated I really needed to hear this. Thank you Sister Kesha. God’s wisdom is paramount.
✝️♥️🙏🏾
What a awesome devotional. I receive it to remember everytime I try to do what only the Lord can do. I move out of His way with only doing what God as told me to do. Thank you once again. Blessings, Shalom and Agape. 👀🙏🏽📖❤
I’m busy lately. This message hits home. Now I just need wisdom to decide what activities to do less of or stop. Please pray I make the right decisions thank you sisters 🙏❤️👑
This message is truth! We’ve heard the term co-dependency and a spiritual definition is false burden bearing When we do more than what God asks us to do or say, then we are interfering with what the other person should be responsible for.
An analogy would be a butterfly coming out of it’s cocoon. The wings of a butterfly unfold as they push open the cocoon. If it’s helped during the process, their wings don’t open fully and then it can be deficient in its ability to fly.
We as women want to help others, however our intentions to help could actually be a hindrance to what God has in mind for someone.
First, I want to apologize because I didn’t read yesterday so I’m doing today. Father, I thank You because I’m always saying not to do extra. I’m so glad you gave this devotional to only do what You have instructed us to do, being good stewards over what You have given to us from our time and with relationships. Your Word tells us when a person ask us to do one mile, we’re to go two. But, keeping in mind Your Word and how it will lead, guide, and instruct is into godliness and righteousness. Remembering, (Matthew 25:14-30).
Father, strengthen me that I’m obedience to You in every area to not to take the focus off You, but let all the glory be given to You. For, it’s through You all things are possible as You strengthen is to do Your will not our own.
Sister Kesha, thank you for helping me remember that I have to be careful of how I interact with God’s people as well as using my time wisely and the heart I have when I’m serving. *The Earth’s is the Lord’s and it’s fullness and they that dwell therein. 💕💐💜💕💐💜
Sister, I apologize for not responding on yesterday. When I began reading this tears began flowing down my face because this really hit me hard. I am always going over and beyond trying to help others thinking this is what God wants me to do. I ask daily for Him to use me for His glory to put someone in my path that I can be a blessings too. I have had so many health problems and No help and love from my children to where I am physically and emotionally drained. Yet when others ask for help I still tries to push myself to do it, causing more pain and frustration. It hurts so bad that your children do not care enough to help me through all the surgeries I have had and I have always been there for them. I pray to our Heavenly Father that I will listen closely to His instructions daily so that I can stay on the path He has destined for me so I can be the Servant He has called me to be. Help me Lord in all areas of my life that I will continue to honor You in Jesus name. Sister, thank you for helping us all on this Christian journey. Praying for you that God will continue to bless you mightily for all you do for His people in Jesus name.
