Put on the Mind of Christ

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5, KJV)

For years I had allowed myself to have an undisciplined thought life and was preoccupied and consumed with all kinds of thoughts. I had grown so accustomed to it that I thought it was normal. But God revealed to me that His will is soundness of mind.

A sound mind is a calm mind, peaceful, focused and clear. It can only be received through Christ. In writing to the believers in Philippi, the Apostle Paul wrote, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” “Let” denotes an action on our part.

If we want to experience peace of mind, we must practice putting on the mind of Christ. Put on the mind of Christ by receiving what God has said about who you are and what He has called you to do. We put on the mind of Christ by choosing to cast down vain imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing into captivity every thought in the obedience of Christ. This will enable us to walk focused and be kept in perfect peace.

Challenge: Set your clock and at every fifteen minute mark speak out of your mouth, “I cast down vain imaginations and every high thing that is trying to exalt itself against the knowledge of God and I bring into captivity every thought in the obedience of Christ. I put on the mind of Christ.” This will help develop a godly habit of taking authority over your mind.

Prayer: Father God I choose to put on the mind of Christ. I want peace of mind and soundness. I want to be focused, sober and vigilant. I receive the mind of Christ and the peace of Christ. I receive your thoughts and your ways of doing things. In Jesus name. Amen.

PRAISE GOD!DOTK FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS DEVOTIONS HAVE BEEN ABOUT PEACE.IN THROUGH THE TRIALS I’VE BEEN FACING IT WAS VERY MUCH NEEDED.TODAY THIS JUST FOLLOWS THROUGH.WORD OF CONFORMATION..MY HUSBAND AND I SAT DOWN THIS MORNING AND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A FEW MONTHS WE WERE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE.ITS BEEN ROUGH SEEING HIM GO THROUGH LIFE’S STRUGGLES AS WELL.BUT IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO BEING TRANSFORMED IN THE MIND..WE ASK OURSELVES DO WE TRULY TRY?OR DO WE JUST TRY TO A CERTAIN POINT THEN GET TO RELAXED CAUSE WE BELIEVE EVERYTHING IS OK.ITS ALL A CHOICE WEVE GOTTA KEEP GOING FORWARD EVEN WHEN IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE..WHETER ITS GETTING PLUGGED IN WITH A GROUP ,A CHURCH , OR JUST TIME ALONE WITH THE LORD.BUT STAYING PLUGGED IN SOME WAY SOME HOW AND SEEKING THE FATHER IN EVERYTHING HE WILL BEGIN TO TRANSFORM OUR WAY OF THINKING.PEACE HAS SUCH A BIG PART IN THIS.ALLOW PEACE BE STILL AND JUST LET THE HOLY SPIRIT TO WORK…GOD WILL NEVER FORSAKE US..ALOT OF TIMES WE WANT THINGS DONE INSTANTLY..AND SOMETIMES HE WILL DO THAT.BUT NO MATTER WHAT THE SITUATION IS OR HOW LONG IT TAKES JUST CONTINUE TO ALLOW YOUR MIND TO BE TRANSFORMED AND PEACE BE STILL.OUR FATHER WILL NEVER LET US DOWN!GOD BLESS ALL THE LADIES AROUND THE WORLD …LOVE YOU ALL AND CONTINUE TRUSTING AND FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH!

  3. Yes..thank you ladies for this good word. This has been such a continual journey for me. Sometimes I have had to speak right out that I cast out every thought that is not of you Lord. I remember YOUR word Lord to think on whatever is true,whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable…if anything is excellent or praiseworthy to think about such things. And the God of peace will be with me. I love you Lord and these precious DOTK who bring us your heart♡

  5. If you are held hostage by negative thoughts, do what Paul recommends in 2 Corinthians. Take every negative thought captive that threatens to invade your thinking. Do it in the name of Christ immediately. Deliver that thought to HIM and let Him deal with it.Give all destructive thoughts to God as soon as you realize they are gathering in your heart. Be on the lookout for unwell thoughts that don’t get caught up in hate, bitterness, lust, hopelessNess and other destructive things. Notice them in advance and stop them in the name of Christ.
    Remember that no temptation is too strong for you will never come across your path ( Corinthians10:14) God never allows you to havetempting thoughts that you can notsay no to. Know that every temptation that comes across your path has been assessed in he a en before it reaches you.Therefore you can say no. You can resist every temptation in the name of Christ. Neither you nor any child of God has any excuse to succum to temptation. Amen
