Enjoy the Journey

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6, (KJV)

If you have children you know that your house is bound to get messy sometimes. Food will find its way on the floor and things you value will break. Just as it is impossible to keep a home spotless when you have children, it is impossible to live a perfect life in an imperfect and fallen world. You may try, but the truth is, you will make mistakes. You will disappoint others and people will disappoint you. You will discover some truths about yourself that you didn’t know existed. It’s no surprise to God! He knew everything about you when He chose you. You, my friend, are on a wonderful journey and there will be twists, turns and surprises, but God is determined. He will complete the work He started in you through Christ! You will know He’s working when you’re looking more and more like Jesus on the inside and behaving more like Him on the outside.

Being like Christ is not the destination, it is the journey.

Prayer: Yes, Lord. I hear You. I receive this encouragement in my heart. I appreciate Your love and mercy. Nothing is a surprise to you. Help me enjoy the journey on the way to being all You called me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
