Receive the tiny crumbs of purpose.

“But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day” Proverbs 4:18, ESV.

God’s specific purpose and plan for your life can’t be seen all at once. He reveals more and more as you go along. It’s like eating the tiny crumbs on the floor that get bigger and bigger in size until we reach the bigger, much larger, cookie. That’s similar to how our purpose works. We follow Him in the smallest commands first. Doing the things we already know to do, until He gives more light and instructions. Some people might never discover their big cookie of a purpose because they won’t stoop down to eat the crumbs that lead to it.

An old friend of mine who I had known for many years, would tell me over and over again, “You have a gift of encouragement.” I didn’t think anything of it. I actually thought it was odd that she called encouragement a spiritual gift. But she would keep telling me until one day I figured if I’m able to encourage people in a gifted way, why not let it work for me. So I began to look for opportunities and creative ways to encourage others. What people tell you over and over again about yourself is an indicator of what you’re good at. It is an indicator of your purpose.

You are happiest when you are doing what you were created to do. Your joy level may be at an all time low and you’re fighting hard not to cave in to the pressure. Cave in to God instead. You have nothing to lose. Let Him use you to the fullest extent. Receive the tiny crumbs of purpose He’s already revealed and trust Him every step of the way to reveal more. There is an expected end. There is a bigger plan and purpose far greater than you can ever imagine. Do the little things very well. Put your heart and your all into the little things and look for more around the bend.

Prayer: Father God, thank You. You are so good. I love you more than anything. Keep on teaching me by Your Spirit. Keep on helping me trust your plans for me. I humble myself and I stoop down and receive the tiny crumbs, the small instructions. Lead me and help me get to that place you thought of when you were forming me in my mother’s womb. I want to please You more than anything. Love, Your daughter.

  1. Often after praying with people, i hear them say you have a gift with prayers. So when the LORD says to start a prayer ministry, it was a confirmation to what He has told me through others already!
Thank you Jesus for every crumb that leads to the big thing you are doing. Help us as DOTK to hear you when the crumb is all we need and not despise the days of SMALL beginnings because if we are faithful, we will receive more. Love you LORD in Jesus name

  2. I receive this in Jesus name. Thanks FATHER. You have put me into my right full pkace. I will pick up the Tiny Crumb along the way.

  3. PRAISE GOD, Thank you for this word LORD, Thank you for giving me the little crumbs first until I make my way to receive the bigger cookie. Thank you for giving me a little word at a time. You said in your word that if you speak everything to us at once, we wouldn’t be able to handle it. I know this to be true because you came to me with so much word i couldn’t handle it i was so excited i couldn’t control myself. It was too much for me to handle.💃👍🙆‍♀️

  5. Every devotion I have read on this app/blog has spoken to me. Each has been where I am in life! I am trying to be more positive and hardworking. I tend to procrastinate and want to often give up. I am overwhelmed and stressed and often feel like a loser or a failure. I’m going to keep on loving God and trying harder to figure out the trick to balance in my life. From special ed paperwork, teaching, mothering a 7 year old boy and being in a relationship, I sometimes just feel at my breaking point. Thankyou for your encouragement you have encouraged me on my journey these last few weeks. I hope to meet you and thankyou in person one day in Heaven!
