The Christmas Card

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

Years ago, I remember one morning I was arriving home when a stranger walked up to me and handed me a Christmas card as I was getting out of my car. In haste, she said, “God bless you,” as she walked off. I shouted, “Thank you!” and went into the house. When I opened the card, a one hundred dollar bill fell out, and tears immediately began pouring down my face. I ran outside, looking for her, and couldn’t find her. She was gone. I had seen how these things happen to others, but this was the first time it had ever happened to me.

Because I knew how amazing that moment was, I decided to do the same for someone else. So, I put a one hundred dollar bill in the same Christmas card and gave it to a woman walking in my neighborhood. I told her, “God bless you,” and walked away. The only thing was, she chased me down and thanked me with tears in her eyes. I thought to myself, “No, this is supposed to be one of those angelic-like experiences where I disappear! Don’t chase me down!” Lol!

My sister, God knows what you’re going through. He sees your need, and He will provide for you and your family. If He has to touch a stranger’s heart, He will; and when He does come through for you, make sure you pay it forward and bless someone else. It is more blessed to give than to receive (see Acts 20:35).

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, that you care for me, and you meet every single one of my needs. Your resources are unlimited, and you have many ways to get a blessing into my hands. Bless me, Lord, not just so I can eat, but so that I can help feed others too. Thank you for providing supernaturally and for being good to me and good through me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
