You are God’s Design

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10

Lately, I’ve been talking with my Lord, talking with my therapist, and talking with my loved ones. I’ve been doing a lot of work on understanding how I am, why I am and what I am. Why do I feel everything? Why do I notice the slightest change in my environment? Why do I feel overstimulated and overwhelmed and have to get away to myself to recharge? Why do bright lights and certain smells bother me? Why is it that I can walk into a room and sense what everyone in the room is feeling? After asking myself these questions, I realized and my doctor confirmed that I am truly a Highly Sensitive Person. I felt so happy to know that nothing’s wrong with me. A matter of fact, something’s very right with me. Being a highly sensitive person is a blessing that only 15 to 20% of people possess. Now, I can be an even greater blessing in the earth than ever before.

My sister, you are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works that God planned beforehand that you will walk in them. You are God’s design and He wants you to become aware of who you are, what you are, and why you are. God has a specific design that He has built within you, a hard-wiring for good, and you will only be fulfilled when you live from that design. I encourage you to do three things:

1) Seek, seek, seek. Seek the Lord in prayer and ask Him how you are, why you are and what you are.

2) Share, share, share. Talk with people (whether a therapist, family or friends) that make you feel safe enough to share with them.

3) Read, read, read. You have the Word of God right at your fingertips and you have a plethora of books by Christian authors that can positively impact your life.

Prayer: Father, I thank you for your wisdom and your encouragement to my soul. Thank you for making me and fashioning me. Father, reveal to me how you made me, what you made me, and why you made me. What is my design and my purpose? Thank you for showing me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. I’m also a HSP. I was very relieved when I found out but I’m still not sure why God made me this way. You have been such a blessing to me for so many years now with these Devotionals. Sometimes I am truly in awe of how connected I feel to God through your work. Thank you and God Bless!

  2. Wow the last few Devotionals have spoke directly to my heart they most often do I swear god uses you to talk to me I’m so thankful for the time you take to do this thanks keisha !

    1. I am a highly sensitive person as well🌟 But throughout my journey with Jesus, I’ve grown to understand that most individuals who are highly sensitive and that can sense what people are feeling, etc. are people who have a prophetic gift, which is one of the supernatural gifts of the Spirit. The prophetic gift allows one to be sensitive to God’s spirit and receive messages directly from Him about ourselves, this world and the people in it. Prophets hear the word of the Lord to encourage and build up the church. This gift can be expressed through prophetic dreams, prophetic painting/drawing, prophetic writing, prophetic teaching/preaching, etc. It could be expressed in something that is termed “deja vu’” or knowing certain things before it happens, sometimes even hearing the Lord audibly speak yo you, smelling smells, seeing supernatural activity with your physical eyes, along with other signals! This gift is so unique and most people are quite afraid of it, but it’s through Holy Spirit that we’re able to receive it. I believe you have that gift, not just as a “highly sensitive person”, but one that is able to speak on behalf of the Lord in the Earth. I would recommend that you read the word about the many prophets in the Bible and ask God to show you what this gift is about.

      1. Hey my sister, thanks for the insight. Thankfully I’m aware of the prophetic anointing and grace God has given me. It’s just so amazing to learn the natural side of my design while on this journey of discovery.

  3. Sister Kesha,
I have been praying for you and so happy to hear you have an answer! That was my prayer for you! The Lord continue to bless you and keep you and give you peace abundantly! 🙌🙏❤

    1. My Father always confirms His word and with many many of your devotions God speaks directly to me. My daughter was sharing with me on yesterday how Holy Spirit revealed to her that some things He allow us to go through it is for us not only to grow but to empower us to help others. This devotion today was straight from the Throne to me! When you said ” therapist” it was like setting the captive free. I often say to the Lord, ” You just gone tell her ALL my business and print it too?” LOL. Thank you Kesha for your obedience in Christ. Thank you Father for the love and trust you have in Kesha for I truly reap a benefit. Be blessed my Sister and may God continue to strengthen you in your innermost being.

  8. THANK YOU for this devotional. Just yesterday, I was meditating on how I perceive myself. I believe the Lord is telling me to continue to be the authentic me that He created me to be because there is a Hidden Treasure there. ❣️

  9. Thank You sounds so small for the sharing of Your heart and valuable time. You are being used in such a great way in this current season of mine – these are the very prayers that I am lifting up and expecting for God to Answer and Reveal in His Timing & in His Way- to “Authenticate” and Confirm Who, What, & Why I am so that I can better understand my part in His Plan! Praying He continue to Bless You, Grow You, Keep You, and Use You according to His Will for Your Life!

    1. You’re so welcome, JC! I pray with all my heart the Lord will do exceeding, abundantly above all then you can ask or think when it comes to authenticating and giving you a better understanding of who, what, why you are.

Thank You for another Awesome WORD!!
    God bless you ♥️♥️♥️♥️

  11. Thank you SO MUCH for this today. I was a psychology minor in college and I’ve always been interested in articles about how the human brain processes emotion because I growing up, I noticed I was full of emotional energy, but I was raised in a family who suppressed emotions. It wasn’t common for us to say, “I love you”… and still not even today as adults. I researched more articles on this HSP topic and my mind is totally blown. God cares about every facet of us. Thank you for allowing Him to use you to speak to a situation I’ve been trying to pinpoint all my life. I was close to it a couple of weeks ago when I discovered RSD – Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. I thank God that He doesn’t separate spirituality from psychology, but He works it all together for good that we, His children, might be made whole. God Bless!!!

  12. Hello Sister in Christ,

First of all thank you for your commitment to thus forum. I understand that at time it can really be exhausting to write devotionals but we are all so thankful that you do. Reading your words helps me on my darkest days and I really feel connected to God when I do. This devotional resonated with me because I have been labeled a highly sensitive person or Empath. Please take time to read up on being and empath. It is a gift and not a curse. We are just different and wonderfully made to fulfill God’s purpose. Dr. Judith Orloff is the leading expert. Check out her books and lectures. Also if you suffer from anxiety related to your sensitivity read The Gifts Beneath Your Anxiety by Pat Longo. This book has changed my life. I now know who I am. I have accepted it and I feel super empowered.
    Much love on your journey.
    Patricia

  13. Thank You my Sister’s Kesha Dotk Ministrie ⚘Glory TO GOD.” I receive it in JESUS Name AMEN LOVE and GOD BLESS You All ALOHA Always Sister Chrissy Honolulu Hawai’i United States ❤⚘❤⚘❤⚘❤⚘❤⚘❤⚘❤⚘❤⚘❤

  14. This came at the best time. I’ve been told before I’m a highly sensitive person and I forget how much of a gift this is. I want to stop saying to myself “what is wrong with me, why do I feel so much, cry so much?” And want to change my thoughts to why and for what purpose did you gift me with being highly sensitive Lord? How can I use this gift to fulfill your purpose in my life in a positive way. I want to build others up. I get so much joy from good things happening to other people and when I share that with them, it freaks them out like I’m expecting something from their blessing. I don’t understand why people react that way. I’m honestly, sincerely happy for others when they receive a blessing they’ve been praying for. Some understand that about me, mostly women, and some do not, mostly men. It’s weird and annoying but I just give it to God. Thank Kesha for sharing Gods heart with me today! Many blessings in you sister.

  15. Bless God…

Thankful that you received an answer to any pondering you were having as to your emotional makeup.

I discovered a couple of years ago that I am also an HSP. I shared it with my husband, and he realized it as well based on all the evidence that all the characteristics matched me.

There is a FB group called Highly Sensitive Group Refugee…. and similar others. I have often felt it is great if Christians could also begin that group to uplift them as well.

But yes!! It is a tremendous breakthrough to have answers. And yes, I have also had to use therapists throughout the years when life gets overwhelming due to my sensitive nature.

God has used you to be a blessing, which proves that being an HSP is definitely not a curse but a blessing.

    God bless you richly, Sis.
