You Will Face Trials, But Be Encouraged

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 (NLT)

Real Christians face real trials. Once you believe in Jesus with your heart and confess Him with your mouth, you receive salvation, but that doesn’t mean you won’t go through anything. If you are facing a real challenge in your life don’t think something is wrong with you or your salvation.

Maybe other Christians you see appear to be happy all of the time and look as if they aren’t going through anything at all. That’s not real! As long as you are in your fleshly body and living in this natural earthly realm, you will have many trials and tribulations. Your faith will be tried and what you believe will be put to the ultimate test. “But be of good cheer” Jesus said, “I have overcome the world.” Take heart! Take courage! Believe God and His promises to you!

The Spirit of the living God lives within you and He will teach you how to overcome and how to walk victoriously. You can have peace in the storm, trusting that God has a divine plan for it all. He will use everything you’ve gone through to strengthen your faith muscles, and make you an even more powerful and effective witness for His glory!

Prayer: Father God, thank You for encouraging me deeply today. No matter what I face, help me stay reminded that You are with me. Thank You for keeping me close to Your side and never letting me go. Thank You for teaching me Your truth and causing me to always triumph through Christ. I love You! In Jesus name, Amen.

  1. Thought
    Good Morning
    Sisterhood in Christ!
The power of the world, the realm controlled by Satan, was defeated when Jesus accepted his Father’s will to go to the Cross. He broke and defeated the power of sin and death. He brought life and immortality to light. He insured that death would not have the final say. So in the middle of sorrows and trials, we can take heart and have peace. Not because things are easy, but because the hard things of this life are temporary and are preparing for us an eternal glory. Our peace is not in the absence of strife or troubles, but in Jesus and what he has done to make our future sure!

Be near, O God, in the middle of my trials and hardships. Stir my heart with your Spirit to remember your promises, your faithfulness, and your triumph over Satan and death through Jesus. Give me the peace of Jesus, in whose name I pray. Amen.
    Today’s Verses in Context

“After a short time you won’t see me. Then after another short time you will see me again.” Some of the followers said to each other, “What does Jesus mean when he says, ‘After a short time you won’t see me. Then after another short time you will see me again’? And what does he mean when he says, ‘Because I am going to the Father’?” The followers asked, “What does he mean by ‘a short time’? We don’t understand what he is saying.” Jesus saw that the followers wanted to ask him about this. So Jesus said to the followers, “Are you asking each other what I meant when I said, ‘After a short time you won’t see me. Then after another short time you will see me again’? I tell you the truth. You will cry and be sad, but the world will be happy. You will be sad, but your sadness will change to happiness. When a woman gives birth to a baby, she has pain, because her time has come. But when her baby is born, she forgets the pain. She forgets because she is so happy that a child has been born into the world. It is the same with you. Now you are sad. But I will see you again and you will be truly happy. You will have a happiness that no one can take away. In that day you will not ask me for anything. I tell you the truth. My Father will give you anything you ask for in my name. You have never asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive. And you will be truly happy. “I have told you these things, using words that hide the meaning. But the time will come when I will not use words like that to tell you things. I will speak to you in plain words about the Father. In that day you will ask the Father for things in my name. I am saying that I will not need to ask the Father for you. No! The Father himself loves you. He loves you because you have loved me. And he loves you because you have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father into the world. Now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” Then the followers of Jesus said, “You are speaking clearly tous now. You are not using words that are hard to understand. We can see now that you know all things. You can answer a person’s question even before he asks it. This makes us believe that you came from God.” Jesus said, “So now you believe? Listen to me. A time is coming when you will be scattered. Each of you will be scattered to his own home. That time is now here. You will leave me. I will be alone. But I am never really alone, because the Father is with me. “I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble. But be brave! I have defeated the world!”
    John 16:16-33

    1. Amen to this! Through Christ we can overcome. He has paid the price He has done it all what we should do is to accept and believe what He has done by surrendering our will our agenda our fleshly desires and give it all to Him. It might sound impossible but it is not, He would never expect or ask anything from us if it was not possible! We have to have our minds be renewed by having the mind of Christ. We have to crucify our fleshly desires and give our wrong thinking to Jesus or to the Holy Spirit and start working on the renewel of our minds. Pure, holy, lovely, wholesome, worthy thoughts have to be in our minds. No judging no gossip no slander no negative thoughts, bad thoughts belong to the enemy. Thoughts become deeds, deeds become habits and so on. We really are what we think! We have the choice! We take every thought captive unto obedience of the mind of Christ! Be strong when saying no to wrong thoughts, we ought not to have anything in us which is not of God. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth. Thank You Father for giving us Your Son and with Him everything we would need to overcome the enemy. Give us Wisdom to apply and understand all You have given us to become One with You. In Jesus name amen.
