Your destination is tied to your full surrender.

“That evening Jesus’ disciples went down to the shore to wait for him. But as darkness fell and Jesus still hadn’t come back, they got into the boat and headed across the lake toward Capernaum. Soon a gale swept down upon them, and the sea grew very rough. They had rowed three or four miles when suddenly they saw Jesus walking on the water toward the boat. They were terrified, but he called out to them, “Don’t be afraid. I am here!” Then they were eager to let him in the boat, and immediately they arrived at their destination!” John‬ ‭6‬:‭16‬-‭21‬, ‭NLT‬‬

When you really let Jesus into your boat, He takes you to your destination. Why we still struggle sometimes to reach our destination is we look like we’ve made room for Him, act like we’ve given Him the reins, yet somehow make Him a stranger in His own house. We welcome him as LORD, yet show Him His “quarters”–this is where you’ll be. You’re allowed this far; go no further.

When you make someone the Lord of your Life, you hand over the keys, the entirety—withholding nothing. You allow Him to walk around the hidden, dark, and forbidden corners. The weak habits. You swing wide open secret passages, locked up vaults, and things you struggle with.

Only then can He tear down those hard places, clear up the clogs in the pipes of your house, clean up the house of your life, bind up the strongman that has put you on a leash, and has built itself a stronghold on certain areas of your life for years.

Afterwards, the Lord then builds a proper comfortable dwelling place for Himself to dwell within you. He makes those things filthy to you. Then He prepares you for take off, taking you where you’ve been wanting to go all along, but didn’t know how on your own–your assigned place.
