“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28, ESV.
Years ago, while looking for furniture for our home, I came across a sales ad where a woman was selling her furniture for a very low price. She had small children and was trying to avoid being evicted from her apartment. As soon as I saw the ad I spoke to my husband about being a blessing to her. So we called the number on the ad and told her, “We do not want to buy your furniture. We just want to help you pay your rent.” She couldn’t believe it. Her rent had to be paid the next morning. So, I told her to not sell her furniture and that we would come by first thing in the morning to take care of it. The next morning we kept our word, took care of her rent and bought food for her family. She couldn’t thank God enough. After praying for her family, she admitted everyone told her she was crazy for trusting strangers to keep a promise. She confessed she had stayed up all night and couldn’t sleep. She was too worried if whether we would do what we said.
It was good that she didn’t listen to the people around her calling her crazy. It was good that she didn’t sell her furniture out of fear. However, it wasn’t good that she stayed up all night worrying.
Hear what I’m about to say to you and never forget it.
The Lord wants you to rest in your heart and mind. Not only does it matter to Him that you receive His promises. It matters to Him how you receive them. Just as I would’ve preferred for that sister to get some sleep the night before, God wants us to rest in Him while we wait on Him to do what He said.
Our faith is what pleases the Lord, and a great indicator that we are in faith is our resting in Him. Before He heals your body, saves your children, restores your marriage, and provides for your family, make a quality decision today that you will rest in Him.
Prayer: Father, thank you for speaking to my heart. You are faithful and true to your word. I receive your help to trust you like never before. I choose to rest in your love and gentle concern for me. No matter how crazy I look or sound to people, I will trust you to do everything you’ve promised. You are my good Father and you love me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hallelujah! I felt led of the Lord to download this app this morning and to my surprise this word is very revelant for my situation this morning. Last night I cried myself to sleep thinking about my unborn child, I just want everything to be okay! I will rest in him. He didn’t want me to stay up crying until I felt asleep. He will come through just as how he did for this lady. Thank you God!
All I can do I wave my hands. I will trust in you lord as I rest and wait for the manifestation of what you promised to me.
I give it all to God. I’ve been stressing over finding a good job, one that pays well, one that I can do with my physical limitations. I also give my physical well being to God, He is my healer. It’s all yours Lord. I give you the stress that my sweet husband has been putting on me. I need you, precious Father, to take over everything. Thank you, in Jesus name Amen. 🙏

I could praise You all day and night Father and that still wouldn’t be enough praise to express how I feel about You! Bless you for this WORD today… I am truly in a season of TRUSTING God to do what only He can do. Last night I found myself laying awake trying to figure stuff out.. But the Spirit spoke to me saying….JUST TRUST ME… and I slept like a baby.
God is able to do more than we can ask, think or imagine…. We just have to stay in His will!!

I confess sometimes I’m overwhelmed with doubt and despair, deeply conflicted with how God could or would love me enough to see me through the darkness that can become all consuming. I know of his goodness, I’ve witnessed his greatness and love and yet, doubt will creep into my thought’s. Thank you for all do and your unwavering dedication to his service.

This word was confirmation. Right before I read this devotional I was just thinking if I really trust God with my children then why am I worrying about them when I’m not around them? I’m still trying to be in control. I’m not resting and enjoying the breaks God gives me. I can’t be everywhere at once but God can. Thank you for reminding us what Faith looks like and what it doesn’t. Peace should be the fruit of Faith in God.

Thank You, Lord, for today’s message which is so timely. My faith was waning and I was getting tired of receiving negative responses of my doing good. I now know it was only a tactic of the enemy to pull me away from You. I want to continue to rest in You and have that mustard seed faith that everything is going to be alright. I must guard my heart and get out of my feelings.
