Be Crazy for the Lord

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” Ephesians 2:10, NKJV.

Whenever I tell people how I went skydiving and jumped out of an airplane at 20,000 feet altitude, some look at me like I’m crazy. It’s the same response I get when I tell people how my husband and I dated for five years until I finished college and then we kissed and were intimate for the first time on our wedding night.

It seems everything God tells us to do as believers is out of this world. You almost can know it’s Him instructing you because it will sound absurd. Jesus did some things that had people looking at Him sideways. He taught some things that made some turn away. However, He was determined to do what He was sent here to do.

More than likely, people already think you’ve lost your mind, so go on and do what you’ve been called to do. Step out of the boat, my sister. Dive into your purpose. Be yourself. You won’t be able to please everybody, so focus on pleasing the Lord. Live for an audience of One and have fun while doing it!

Prayer: Father God, I thank you for your encouragement. Help me not to be concerned about what people think. I want to obey you and fulfill your divine purpose for my life. I may seem crazy, and it may sound crazy, but I’m willing to look crazy for you. I love you with all my heart and I pray you use me for your glory! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Read John 2:5)

As I read todays devotion, I was reminded of a quote by
    Leonard Ravenhill:
“If we displease God, does it matter whom we please? If we please Him, does it matter whom we displease?”

I love how Holy Spirit spoke it through you in saying “Live for an audience of One.”
Yes, Lord. Yes. Only You, my Savior, my King. To You alone be the glory!!!

  5. Lord,You didn’t bring us into this world to win any popularity contests.
