“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6
Being confident is the terminology used by the Apostle Paul while sitting in a dark, filthy dungeon writing to the church at Philippi. And though his external conditions grew worse, he was becoming increasingly confident, convinced and inwardly certain that what God had started in them, He would complete.
It is the nature of God to allow you to face tough situations to bring out the best in you. It is only in tests and trials that we discover that God truly lives in us. It is only when someone accuses you of being someone you’re not, that you open your Bible to find who you truly are in Him. Our being reassured by Him increases our confidence.
Don’t allow that negative situation to cause you to become deflated and discouraged. You may be ready to head for the hills, but God says to, “Look to the hills from whence comes your help. Your help comes from the Lord” (see Psalm 121:1-2).
Declare this today from your heart:
“The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hindsβ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!” Habakkuk 3:19, Amplified Bible
Prayer: Father God, I thank you for speaking to my heart so clearly. I have lost confidence, but I ask you to please restore it. Make me strong and full of confidence in you. In Jesus name, Amen.

I had a question. Do Christians actually go through trials? The word speaks of being tested, tried, and we will encounter various troubles! But what are trials for? Is this word “trial” being used due to new versions? Because KJV and NKJV does not make reference to “trials” one version says “tried” another “tested” not sure where the church picked up that God puts us through “trials?” What are trials for? Isn’t the testing of my faith enough? Just a good question for what we are teaching now a days, even in devotionals. Thanks for responding.
In Jesus name Amen π
In the mighty and strong name of Jesus, amen.
