Christ lives in our hearts by faith.

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height…” Ephesians 3:17-18

Think back to when you first surrendered your life to Jesus. Did you sense His warm presence? Did you feel His great love? Did you feel brand new, full of hope and confidence? Maybe you couldn’t stop smiling. Maybe the sun seemed to shine brighter and you didn’t have a care in the world. You knew without a doubt God was there because of how great you felt.

In writing to new believers in Ephesus, Paul mentioned something in his prayer for them that we need to grab hold of. He prayed that Christ would dwell in their hearts by faith. At our very core is faith, trust and reliance upon the truth that the Spirit of Christ lives in our hearts, and if He lives, so do we.

We all have days when we may not feel anything at all. We may not feel brand new or feel righteous but we know Christ lives in our hearts by faith. We walk in newness of life by faith. We walk in who we are in Christ by faith. We go to God in prayer and obtain mercy and find grace by faith. This is a faith walk, my sisters, and we’re here for it!

Prayer: Thank you, Father, your Spirit lives inside of me. No matter how I feel and no matter what’s going on around me, I am in you and you’re in me, the anchor of my soul. Thank you for comforting and encouraging me. Help my faith continue to grow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. What if we after having many troubles and knowing Jesus, felt that overtime our faith grew stagnant? I never stopped talking with God. But my ways went back at times to how I used to be before I knew Him. It breaks my heart because I remember how it felt when I found Him. He healed me SO MUCH but the enemy came like a flood, and I did fall. Can we be restored ? πŸ™
