Come out of that place and go to the throne of grace!

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

Someone who has smoked multiple packs of cigarettes everyday for years might have trouble coming to God boldly to ask for healing of lung cancer. Someone who has wasted all of their money gambling at the casinos might not feel so motivated to ask God for mercy and grace in paying their bills. Our sins can affect our confidence in coming to God, so much so, that some of us opt not to pray at all. We think to ourselves, “Why would God help someone like me? Why would He heal me or deliver someone like me? Why would He extend His grace toward me? I did this to myself and I’m getting what I deserve.” But that’s not the attitude God wants you to have. You were not designed to live in fear, guilt and shame. I command you to come out of that place in the name of Jesus! I command all taunting and tormenting spirits that have been sent from the enemy to leave you now in Jesus name! No matter how you feel right now, you are a King’s daughter! You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! You are redeemed and purchased by His blood! Yes, you may have sinned and made a big mess of things, but God’s mercy is greater! No matter what you’ve done, you can always, always, always approach God’s throne of grace with a bold and humble attitude, confessing your wrongs and receiving His mercy and grace because of who you are in Christ.

Take this with you and never forget it…Don’t ever let anyone or anything make you feel so bad that you back away from receiving God’s promises of healing and deliverance that Jesus paid the ultimate price for YOU to walk in!

Come out of that place and go to the throne of grace!

Prayer: Father God, in and of myself, I don’t deserve your mercy or grace, but because of Jesus, I come boldly to your throne asking for it anyway. Forgive me of every sin that I’ve knowingly committed or was completely unaware of. Lord, thank you for your mercy. Now, I ask that you grace me and empower me to live in a way that pleases you and makes you smile. I receive your promises to me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  3. Amen. The gracious heart of Jesus beats warmly for the losers of His day.Think about the prostitute in Luke 7. She wiped wiped her tears from the feet of Jesus using her hair. after she was in univited on a dinner where Jesus was the guest of honor. While the pious choked with indignation over the fact that Jesus forgave her sins she heard the most beautiful words ever Your faith has saved you go in peace. That is what Jesus is like even today. you are always welcomed in His company no matter how deep or far you hv fallen. with Him there is always an extra portion of heavenly Grace to be had. All you need to do is Ask.

  4. Thank You for not condeming anyone but standing with open arms welcoming everyone who comes to You. Your Word says though your sins were as red as scarlet, I will wash it whiter than snow. Thank You that You are the Lover of my soul and that nothing can seperate me from Your love.

  5. Proverbs 2
is a father’s appeal to a son. This father wants what’s best for his son. The dad is Solomon, the wisest man who had ever lived. He wants his son to be a success, but not in the way we usually think about it. He wants his son to be a SPIRITUAL success.

    ,But Proverbs 2
is more than an ancient sage appealing to his son. It’s God appealing to and instructing us. GOD wants us to be spiritually successful.

So what does Solomon (and God) have to say to us about spiritual success?

My son, if you receive my words
and treasure up my commandments with you,
making your ear attentive to wisdom
    and inclining your heart to understanding;
yes, if you call out for insight
and raise your voice for understanding,
if you seek it like silver
and search for it as for hidden treasures,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God. (Proverbs 2:1-5)

First of all, spiritual success is conditional. It won’t happen automatically. Notice how many times Solomon says β€œIF” before he gets to the β€œTHEN” – IF you receive my words… IF you call out… IF you seek it like silver… THEN you will understand.

We must pursue God whole-heartedly. Though God pours out all things freely as gifts of grace, he gives us what the Puritans called β€œmeans of grace” – things like Bible intake, prayer, fellowship, preaching, and reading books – means by which we receive grace. IF we pursue God through these means, God promises to freely give grace.

Seeking God is like turning on a faucet. Millions of gallons of water are just waiting to quench our thirst, but we have to turn on the faucet. God has bags and bags of grace stored up for us, but we must pursue him. James said, β€œYou have not because you ask not.” Jesus said if we keep asking, seeking, and knocking we will receive, find, and the door will be opened.

Solomon tells his son that the 2 most important things in life are to know God and to fear him:

then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
    Sister’s in Christ!

  6. I tucked Hebrews 4:16 in my heart and have pulled it out many times what a loving awesome holy Father we have that shows us so much love and mercy

  7. l have been thinking about why l find it difficult to fully take God by His word. As l read the devotional l guess l get it better now. Why do you think that after asking God for a major breakthrough , when it finally occurs we are so excited n surprised? We are so full of joy when are prayers are answered; but are not so prior to our praying for that need. I guess because of our fallen natare, though we are conscious of God’s ability, we relate to God by the senses(see is believing). Today l join hands with the man in the bible who said “Lord l believe, help my unbelief” In deed by the flesh shall no man prevail. Though l am mortal please help me to relate to you more after my spiritual self. That when things seem impossible l will be more sensitive to the spirit. That l will not fret, knowing that He who is for me is greater than those against me. Help me Lord to fully rest in your unfailing love. Thank you Lord

  8. Why do you think that God will not hear you when come to Him? Humanly speaking when l offend someone l have to ask for pardon before l can get along with the person. When the offense is so grievous, l will doubt if i can be pardoned. I guess we relate to God on this same plane and is what makes it difficult for us to trust God for His pardon. Dearest Lord please help me to see, know and relate with You on your level and not mine level.

  9. “Now know l that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.” (psalm 20:6) l think father David was behaving like me. Does it mean that it was after the miracle that He realised that God will can indeed hear him and save him? l ask this because of the phrase “now know l” This is how we relate to God. We must move away from this life style and l believe it shall be well with us. I seem to be labour this point because l think God is still saying something.
