Delayed, but not Denied

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, Proverbs 3:5, NIV

Have you ever had those moments in life where everything is going according to plan and you have the rest all squared away, BUT suddenly you face an unexpected set back or interruption that leaves you perplexed?

I admit, it can be a bit discouraging and upsetting to face such a thing, especially after you’ve invested everything you possibly had. But one thing I have learned in my walk with Christ is that delays don’t necessarily mean denials. It’s all about your perspective towards the matter and the way you perceive things that make a huge impact in your life and in your future.

I see set backs and interruptions as a opportunity to exercise our faith and an opportunity to demonstrate our trust in the Lord. At the end of the day, whatever plan we may have must first be approved by God according to His divine will for our lives. Although our understanding may run wild when we face a set back, we can not lean on that. We must lean on the Lord’s understanding which is far greater than ours.

If you’ve experienced this in the past or you may be experiencing it now. Don’t be discouraged, God is still in control. He still has the last word and He is still running the show. Just simply TRUST in Him and He will make all your ways straight according to His plan for you.

Whatever the outcome is, just be still and know that He is God and that He has your best interest in mind for you and your future. Follow His lead, because He will get you where you have to be safely.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for Your encouragement. I understand that delays don’t necessarily mean denials. When I face set backs, help me to be all the more encouraged to pray and ask for Your will to be done. I don’t want anything that is not from You in my life. In Jesus name, Amen!

      1. Amen, Thank You Farther God This Is Just What I Needed I’m Going Through So Much I Put All My Trust And Have All My Faith In You Lord I Know Your Will Shall Be Done And I Accept I Believe And Recieve It All I Love You Lord I Love You Lord Amen Hallelujah Amen.

  1. Good Morning! This devotion really blessed my soul this morning. I have been praying about a particular situation that occurred. This setback had me a little discouraged first I cried about it, I prayed on it, and I just gave it entirely to the lord. I said let thy will be done because there was nothing else I could do about the situation. Sometimes the devil will try to discourage you when problems happen in your life. I know the devil wants me to be sad and have a pity party but NOPE I will continue to trust in the lord. Thank you just for the confirmation!!! Delayed but not Denied.

  4. Every good and perfect gift is from God. Lord help me to understand that your delay is not a denial, but more like ‘just wait a little longer, trust Me to give you My very best’. Amen

  5. Thank you Jesus. This is right on point with where I am in life. Yesterday after being tested and tried. I told myself, through my walk with Christ I have to follow Him and let God be God. Just when you think things are going according to plan, God makes a right. You are not sure where you are headed but we t need to just follow his navigation. We will not see the destination just yet but I know it’s right up ahead. I just need to trust him. At this point I am not in fear just waiting in faith on the Lord as he continues to move. He is and always will be in control. Thank you Lord for your guidance. I know you will provide and will show me the next turn I need to take. My life in your hands, I will continue to wait faithfully.
