Endings lead to new beginnings.

The death of you is not the end of you; it’s the beginning. When Jesus is asking us to die to ourselves, He is asking us to lay down our way of doing things for His way, our way of responding to things, for His way. He’s asking us to put down our imperfect way of seeing things for His perfect kingdom perspective. Although it’s difficult at times, we must remember we have a good Father who promises that He will not withhold anything good from us as we walk upright. We can trust if He is asking us to lay our old life down, He has something better in store for us.

“Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength” 1 Corinthians 15:43, NLT.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.” Isaiah 55:8

Prayer: Papa, thank you for always having our best interest at heart. Forgive us for the times we leaned on our own understanding instead of trusting your perfect plan. Help us to surrender to your way. Teach us daily how to do life in step with Holy Spirit. Empower us daily to grow in grace. Thank you, Papa, for being a good good Father. Thank you for giving us the courage to lay down the old way to receive the new. Help us press past the resistance from our flesh and submit totally to you so we can go the distance with you, trusting and obeying you even when it’s difficult. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  5. This devotional is so true!!! When I read this it immediately took me to the scripture verse that tells us: He must increase, and we must decrease. When we start to pull off the old man and putting on the new man, death is taking place to these three things from the: Pride of Life, Lust of the flesh, and Lust of the eye. We’re dying daily to self it being the battle to allow Jesus Christ and His Ways to be LORD of our lives to live the “Life Abundantly” that He have planned for us on this earth so others will be compelled by the “LOVE” we show one another. To practice: Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding, abundantly above all that we can ask or think according to the POWER that works in us.
He works in us as we ask Him to help lead and guide us daily.

  8. My husband of 27 years passed away in his sleep on Sunday morning.
I knew he was gone but was waiting for EMS to arrive and saw this title Endings lead to new beginnings and felt God saying to me that I’m on a new path now. I have a lot of decisions to make if you see this, please pray I continue to submit to his voice and his leading to the places he wants to go.
