Forward is Action

“But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.” James 2:20,24

The only thing that separates us from our past and a promise from God is an action. Without your actions, your faith stands dead and unfruitful. When you apply the brakes to your vehicle, the car will stop. No matter the speed, the car will cease to move. It will obey you. If a room is dark and we want to see, we turn on the light and the darkness flees. The light will invoke its’ power upon the darkness.

When we put into action God’s Word in our lives, the discouragement and bitterness will obey Him; they must let you go. When we say what He says, peace will come and the turmoil will stop. Go forward with your God-given gifts and God will back you. Praise God and watch His joy arise in your heart. When you act, God removes the obstacle, and in turn, you receive the blessing.

The challenge is believing the action will produce our expectation. Remember, this is not merely an action. This is an action directed by God. It is the action inspired by God to combat all of the evil, oppression and past pains that seek to overtake you.

Prayer: Father God, I thank You for speaking to me. I need to move forward from the past, and so I ask You to help me. Show me what You want me to do. Help me go forward into the purpose and plan You have for my life. I receive Your wisdom and Your grace now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

When we don’t know what to do we can go to the Lord Jesus in prayer
Lord you God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Take a moment and savor that verse. Read it. Read it again. Read it one more time!

    Pretty amazing, isn’t it?

God takes delight in you! He rejoices over you with singing!

When my boys were little I loved the smile on their faces when I told them how special they are to me. It still seems to bring such peace to them to hear me brag on them. They seem to want to know my pleasure in them.

I find the same joy in my heart when I read this scripture!

The idea that God delights in me! I don’t know about you, but sometimes I don’t feel very delightful! Sometimes I wonder how I can even stand myself! Yet, God, the Creator, Sustainer, Lord Almighty, the Great I AM, takes personal delight in me! Me!

Picture this! God rejoices over you and me… enough that He does it with singing! What a wonderful testimony of the depth of our Father’s love!

As you lie down to sleep tonight, listen carefully for your Father’s tender voice, as He takes great delight in you and rejoices over you in song! Somehow I picture Him having a special tune… a unique lyric… words that are designed just for you.

The Lord your God is with you. He is mighty to save!
