God can’t do anything if we don’t let Him in.

“But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:6-7

If you ever experienced a broken and busted pipe in your home, you would call a plumber to come to fix it. With water everywhere, you wouldn’t hesitate to contact someone who can repair what’s broken. How do we let God repair what’s broken in our hearts and our minds and fix what’s busted in our lives? We acknowledge those areas, and then we let Him in. That’s humility, my sister. The Lord longs to rescue us. He stands there as our very present help in our time of trouble, waiting, but like an expert plumber, He can’t do anything if we don’t let Him in the house. To call on the Lord is one thing, but to actually open the door and accept His way of handling a situation is another. Let’s not be wise in our own eyes, my sister, thinking we know better than God. I pray we let Him in so He can do what only He can do.

Prayer: Oh, Father God, I call out to you right now. You’re the only help I know. Come in and fix and repair my mind, my heart, and my life. Forgive me for behaving like I don’t need you. I need you, and I receive your help. I humble myself under your mighty hand, and I give every area of my life to you. Heal, restore, deliver, and set me free. Be glorified greatly. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
