God is building your life!

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock” Matthew 7:24-25, NKJV.

Sometimes people will go about their merry way, not praying, not fasting, and not spending time in the word of God, and it can look like everything is going well for them. It can seem like they are prospering without any sacrifice at all, any foundation building, character building, Holy Ghost pruning, stretching, or anything! God says to not envy sinners. Don’t get in your feelings when they prosper in their way. Only a life built on a solid foundation of obedience to the word of God will withstand the heavy storms that are sure to come. Only a marriage built on Christ will last. Any other foundation will not stand.

You keep letting God strengthen you in the areas where it matters most. Keep answering His call to steal away with Him in the middle of the night in prayer. Keep responding to Him when He draws you away from harmful influences and close to spending time with Him doing things that honor Him. Keep obeying Him when He calls you to turn away from eating or drinking for a while so you can lean into Him. I promise you, the author and finisher of your faith is building your life, strong and stable! He has great plans for you! You will have many levels of glory, and you will withstand any storm!

Prayer: Yes, Lord, my cry is for you to strengthen my foundation in you and build my life. Help me not envy sinners who have chosen to build without you. I want a firm foundation that can withstand anything that comes my way. I want my life to bring you glory. I give my all to you for you to build my life how you see fit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  1. Lord show .e what to fast how to fast. I’m a diabetic so I have to watch what I’m eating. But I was just thinking yesterday about this and want to fast but it’s hard because I have eating issues. Then you confirm this by thus devotional. Help me Jesus to be obedient and understand you got me Lord. No matter what you got me!

    1. Hi. I read your comment and I just want to suggest some things on your concerns about fasting. Do you really want to fast from food? If you have diabetes, it will be hard for you to skip meals. Alternatively, you may want to fast from social media ( Facebook, Instagram or Tiktok, etc) watching television, or something in your daily routine (aside from eating) that you can fast from.
      These could be anything that wouldn’t compromise your health. We do prayer and fasting in our congregation and some members with health conditions or pregnant are not forced to fast from food, rather we give them alternative options to fast. I hope this helps.

  6. God I sense you want me to go back to eating more healthy and I am purposely moving away from sugar . I’m pressing in prayer and giving up meat ..Sugar is the real challenge yet I’m proud of myself because I repented of not treating my body as the temple I should ! Pressing in prayer means being obedient to heed Holy Spirit’s leading . I have been awaken in the middle of night to pray and I am
    Writing prayer letters . Not bragging just bragging our God and that obedience has brought breakthroughs with more open doors to come . Resurrection Sunday is going to be powerful. God has been building me by tearing down every lie from hell and aligning me to my true identity in Christ Jesus. The pruning God has done hasn’t been easy and numerous tears have been shed …..BUT GOD !!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

  8. That’s such a powerful scripture! It reminds us that hearing God’s word is not enough—we must also apply it in our lives. When we build our faith on the solid foundation of Christ, we can withstand the storms of life, no matter how strong they may be. Amen💯🙏🏽❤️
