“Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw that the hills were full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha” 2 Kings 6:17, Berean Standard Bible.
You’ve heard that God is with you, but you’re getting ready to see how truly He is there. You’ve been taught how much Jesus loves you, but soon you will see just how much He does. You’ve read scripture after scripture about how God is good, but you are going to see with your eyes His manifold blessings. God is opening your eyes just like He opened the eyes of Elisha‘s servant. He went from sheer panic to seeing hills covered with horses and chariots of fire. God is opening your eyes to see and you will be divinely relieved. Your High Priest, Jesus, is praying the same prayer of Elisha over you. He’s praying, Father, open her eyes so she can see what we see. You’ve been serving the Lord, just like Elisha’s servant. Staying by His side without fully seeing. Life has brought you to a point to where you cry out to God, show me your glory! And God has heard your cry. He has seen your distress, and He is opening your eyes to see the might of your God who is with you, the overwhelming strength of His love, and just how wonderful and good He is.
Prayer: Yes, Lord. I receive with everything in me your word into my heart. Open my eyes so I can see. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
