He is your castle guard.

“…for the LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” Isaiah 52:12

I care about reaching women as long as God doesn’t require deep friendships. I feel like I can’t do that part. Like a one-armed woman who can do everything else except hold both of your hands. Feel limited. I can love big but when triggered, I unconsciously shut down all output like doors that instantly close. My windows go down and the draw bridge that had singing children nearby. Well, those kids rush inside, and the bridge that gave you access to me and me to you, goes up, and I’m sorry about your hand that was almost crushed. The threat of harm caused a complete and utter shutdown and now I’m like that toy that no matter how much you fiddle with it, you can’t open it up. So you consider putting it on the shelf out of frustration, giving it away to someone to have a crack at it, literally having a crack at it, throwing it away, or moving on to someone who is more easy.

This is when those simple positive affirmations doesn’t work for me. No, this is the part when the only option is to surrender completely to God. And even if I feel like no one is safe anymore, I let Him in. All the way in, and He wastes no time investigating the deeper parts of my soul. He is only here to help me.

Some of us have been like beautiful castles within view but no one can come into. Surrounded by waters with fake crocodiles in them. Every now and then people might see a window open but that’s only to make sure the grounds of our hearts are still securely guarded. I know how it feels. This is when we surrender to the One who made our hearts and understands us better than anyone. Surrendering completely to God is about surrendering to our real and true identity in Christ. In Him there are no limitations.

There is no need for fake crocodiles in the water to scare off predators because God’s Holy Spirit stands at the door of our hearts. He’s our castle guard. His love heals and goes where no one else can. Our iron doors can’t keep Him out of our hearts, nor shut Him in. We’re reaching an end of ourselves and are surrendering to Him. God is coming in like a loving mighty army and handling what’s been trying to handle us. We are His beautiful daughters and He didn’t design us to be distant and completely inaccessible. He designed us to follow His lead and let in who He says is safe.

Let’s pray. Papa, thank you for how you love us. Your love is consistent, unfailing and very deep. We surrender to you completely. Be the castle guard of our hearts. We draw near to you, and pray you draw near to us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I truly believe this ministry is anointed and speaks directly to the heart of a believing woman, and any woman seeking Jesus as their Savior. This devotional confirmed what I gave to God today. I bless the Lord above all things that He is in the business of healing, forgiving and giving us a Hope and Future. Its time to heal, Its time to let love in and its time to serve with a complete heart not triggered by the past, but expectant and hopeful of the future I will now have because I gave God access and trusted Him. Thank you. I am on my way to growing up in Christ today! Amen. God bless you and your households DOTK, every servant and every believer that is working the Kingdom for the Glory of God. Amen.

  7. This is one of your best!
So many of us can relate to this.
Thank you for putting it the words that I didn’t quite have yet!

  8. This is poetic, amazing and beautiful! It really spoke to me as a young person and resonates with the season that I’m in.

  9. I was Just praying to the FATHER about my hesitancy at making friends, and asking HIM to help me with the trauma I experienced in the workplace, which has led me to close myself off from two women, outside of the workplace, who were trying to be my friend. I closed myself off to them, because of the workplace warfare. Seeing how diabolical a lot of the people I work with have been towards me, has made me feel that is how most people are, so now I shun the possibility of friendships.

This is a right on time posting for me, and it’s just amazing that GOD was listening to me. This is confirmation HE is already helping to put me back on track, with this part of my life. Amen.

  10. Thank you so much for sharing this. I have also struggled with this. Thank you for being obedient to how God is using you. Thank you for putting it into words for me. It spoke to my heart.
